Lets give TD some love.......

Dude's shoulder is still hurting from surgery and he is playing thru it. He has answered the call of duty and gave it his best.

While we can speculate his PG acumen might not be suitable for permananet placement one can see his shot is not his usual self.

He is playing while we are men short and giving it his best. Shump has risen to take the spot and TD is now back to perhaps the positoin he is best suited for.

Instead of "Trashing" our players when they don't live up to our inflated starphuch expectatoins perhap we can at least be empathetic to some degree and just catoragaize his current state as "Playing thru an injury" and hope for the best.

I might not leave him on my fantasy team (if I had one) but he is our longest tunured knick and has a history of hustle and improvement. Maybe we can give a pass to one who is not a "Star" also?

i thought toney played really well on defense last night. he fought over the top of screens and really contained louis williams - held him to 2pts. he hit a few jumpers, too, which was nice. seemed like a potential building block game for him.

i been saying this for awhile nalod. td isn't this kinda player, he's a good defender and he's a good scorer but i think this should injury is plaguing him badly and it's alarming that it's still bothering him from last year. maybe surgery should be in the cards for him.

I agree; it's not to respect his effort. But it's worrisome that his shoulder doesn't heal.

We should never boo the kid because he is playing hard and doesn't dog it. However this shoulder injury is his own doing, he needs to figure out how to defend guys without running full speed into the screener.

TD is a nice role player and that's how we should judge him.

I agree we need to get to play like he played at the end of last year with confidence. He plays hard so he will get there

I am a bit tired of cutting TD slack. He is hurt and I appreciate his effort. But let's not pretend that he's a starter. I like him for scoring and defense off the bench, but that's about it.

I'm good as long as he plays off guard.
the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

If the role of the coach is to put players in roles where they can be most successful, then Toney Douglas should NEVER be entrusted to initiate the offense.

Never, ever. Forever.

Other than that, we cool.

Against the quicker backcourts, love the ball pressure a backcourt of Shumps and TD puts on the opposition. Just don't let TD dribble the ball up the court, he will cross court lob pass it to the other team for an uncontested dunk

Perhaps, and maybe he would have been able to do better if his shoulder was healed.

Sometimes we take surgery for granted and don't think about the pressure these guys are under to heal and perform.

Play with pain is one thing but if the arm is not strong is another.

And with a thin roster there is opportunity for him also.

Millions are at stake. If the kid could get to the next level it really does matter financially.

The pressure to perform while injured can be intense. At the same level if he drops back when his contract is up he can find himself out of the league pretty fast.

Many players are talented enough but being at the right place at the right time is often the qualifier to a decent career.

Sometimes you follow a guy's career and take things for granted.

TD is not garbage!

Truth be told, when TD was running the show vs. the Sixers, I was thinking -- only thinking -- that if Bibby is hurt, it could be time to call on Mr. Lin.

Playing with an injury only hurts the team. Have a seat son.

Playing with pain? Stop over-dribbling while retreating and people will adore you.

Pressure to perform?

That is why it is called professional basketball.

Knicks didn't have a choice putting TD in there...His backup was done 3 years ago and the backup's backup is not an NBA talent..TD was it, he was called to duty..U don't have to respect it, just understand it..
