Despite a 7-for-25 night on the floor, Amar'e Stoudemire ran a streak of 20-point games to five during Monday's win over Charlotte, but that wasn't the headline Tuesday morning.[Stoudemire] used to lead the Knicks in scoring. Now he leads them in most intriguing trade scenarios. Stoudemire, whose name surfaced last month in reports involving Chris Paul and the New Orleans Hornets, is also being mentioned as a possible partner in a trade to Orlando for Dwight Howard. "I don't worry about that stuff," Stoudemire said on Monday. ... The Knicks would make sense [for Howard] except for the fact that it is unlikely the Magic would do a deal for Stoudemire, an Orlando native, because his contract is not insured.

It would have to be Amare, Chandler, Fields, For Howard, Turk, Duhon

Orlandon
Chandler, Stoudemire, Fields, Richardson, Nelson, 6th man Anderson

Knicks
Howard, Turk, Melo, Shumpert, Bdiddy, 6th man Douglas

I don't see a better deal out there for them. They would be better off looking for proven guys like a Chandler and Stoud over lottery picks and cap space.

Dwight Howard is tremendous, but I'm not 100% sold on giving up both Amare and Chandler and taking back Turk as part of the deal. The big problem is Turkoglu still has two years left at this one and he's a bad fit for this team, IMHO. We have no way to amnesty Turkoglu and really no way to improve the team until his contract is off the books. Turkoglu is tremendously overpaid. If we're talking Chandler, Amare, Carmelo vs. Dwight Howard, Turkoglu, Carmelo, we may be better off with the first rather than the latter.

Obviously, the big benefit here is we get the best player in the deal and Dwight Howard is 3 years younger and should have a better long term prognosis, but still... not against this deal by any means, just not yet sold.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Hedo is putting up solid numbers this year. He seems to have recovered after that Phoenix-Toronto stint, and he is a deadly animal from behind the arc. The guy is 6'10", 220, and I can see him Four here. He will spread the floor and make it rain.

My biggest thing is that a 22 year old Howard took Orlando to the Finals with Hedo as his sidekick. And Hedo is not even in the same area code as Melo. Howard was the reason Hedo got payed. Imagine what Melo would do with a beast like Howard?

They'll say Howard isn't that dominant on offense, he doesn't do this, doesn't do that. But the guy commands attention like no other player in the league, sans LeBron. They used to say Shaq only dunks, can't do this, can't do that. But what else does he need to do?

Howard is a beast, people are afraid of that match-up. This will open the gates for Melo to do anything he wants. Melo will rape the NBA with Howard on the Knicks.

Isn't there already a thread on this exact topic
the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

LOL. Not exactly.

This is the most concrete news we have on the deal, so it's in a new light.

This thread is a little closer to home.
