I have watched every Minny game this year since I am becoming a huge Rubio fan. He (Barea) is very selfish and once the ball goes into his hands it rarely leaves. He can score (sometimes) and is feisty but the opposite of what the knicks needed. He would not have helped our PG issue, he is just another chucker and you rarely see him on the floor in Minny as a PG.

Tonight with the Twolves playing Chicago, Chicago was killing them, almost up by 30 in the first half. Barea was playing with Rubio and not once did he pass the ball back to Rubio - it was putrid. It's like he is out to prove that he is better than Rubio. Anyway, I think they realized that it was not working and they put Ridenour in with Rubio and the ball started moving well and now at the half they are down by 6.

Three times in the half Barea quit the play completely to stop an argue with the officials. Not my kind of player.

Rubio for the half - 5pts 7assists 2reb +6
Barea for the half - 6pts 0assists 0reb -10

Very interesting. I have seen players get locked out by others not wanting to pass to them as well.

With Tyson Chandler, setting the screens for him, he will create a lot of chaos.
That little fella is a tough, quick, and strong one for his size.
I think he would have worked well in New York, maybe about 15-25m a game.
Maybe that is his role on the Wolves, to score, and the coach gives him the green light?
With Melo and Amare, I don't think it would be the same but who knows?

I'm not really into the small sparkplug PG. Effective in stretches when the team goes cold, but lots of negatives, especially on the defensive end. Not a bad piece if you're looking to make a run in the third quarter, but otherwise, just not my cup of tea. Not upset that we passed on him either.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

I saw this game and I agree with the assessment. Barea seems a little selfish and overly confident in his own abilities.

Rubio and Ridnour actually play really well together - I wonder if Adelman would consider starting them side by side?

Rubio's play in the second and third quarters really got Minnesota back in the game. I thought Barea actually took Minnesota back out of the game when he came in in the early 4th while Rubio rested. Derrick Rose kind of took over at the end of the 4th quarter though.
