Wouldn't having Phil Jackson as the Knicks coach to win us a ring would be like having sloppy seconds or thirds??

Phil Jackson is a good coach but there would be something just not right with us winning a championship with him as coach. He just walk in with all the pieces in place. No I'd rather have another coach take us to the promise land.

The guy is a winner. I want to win. "Just win baby". This is about winning a championship.

He originally won championships on the Knicks. The Lakers and Bulls got sloppy seconds! I don't care anyway.

Papa,

When you Starphuch, you go all the way!

Personally I want to see MDA do this with these guys. Im rooting for the team to win.

I know many don't want MDA thinking Dumbledoor will be the next mystic Rasputin (Isiah was the first) to charm Little Jimmy but at this moment in time I want to win. Change is a good buzz but not always for the better!

I believe we would need a post player in the triangle and Melo is our probably only legit post player.

Tyson Chandler is not bad but he isn't a real offensive force without a great PG.

Between Chandler and Amare, I think Chandler is the slightly better post player but that just isn't part of his game.
Amare doesn't have post moves, so I don't know how effective the triangle would work for us...

I want to win it all but not with Phil Jackson. When Phil takes Charlotte, the Nets, The Wizards or any team like that with exception to us to win a championship he would have earned my respect. I mean come on MJ and the Chacago team. Kobe and shaq in LA give me a break.

How would this be any less a championship? If anything Phil played for the Knicks in the past.

Hmm, sloppy thirds is better than no win at all. And he's a home town fella, has a lovely home in WDST, and was part of the team in better times. Let's bring the chip home again. Phil would be alright with me.

None needed. I could care less who the coach was who took us to a championship. What about all these players who come from other teams that bring a championship. As a matter of fact, it's common wisdom to bring in pieces(players) to insure that a team becomes a winner(see Amar'e, Melo, Chandler). Why should a coach not be looked at in the same light?

When you haven't been laid since '73, sloppy seconds are still terrific.

There would be something special about this team winning a title with this coach as opposed to bringing in Jax who would somewhat overshadow the organization. This is the coach we've had for 3+ years. It would be special to see this team make it without bringing in Lebron or Phil Jax. Lebron spurned us and so did Jax. He could coach here whenever he wants, but he hasn't wanted to coach here. D'Antoni came here KNOWING he wasn't going to have a good team to coach for 2 years. He's taken all the abuse and damage to his reputation which was very good before he got here. I want to see him reap some of the reward if this team wins big.

Winning a chip is a process not a sloppy seconds.
The greatest thing about it is how it was done... how team was build, went through ups and downs, struggles and controversy to get it all at the end.
You cannot buy this for $$$. This has to be worked on, leaved through, accomplished.
I am not a fan of quick sex... even protected .
Coach (or coaches) is a part of the process so I do not care much - Mike, Phil, whatever...
Let’s just stick with somebody and do it.

How about sloppy fourths? fifths? How sloppy does it have to get before it's just gross?
