Read it on ChargedFM.com. Good move. Veteran 2 guard. Adds depth and defense. Started every game for the Bulls last season.

Agreed. But this makes sense and they seem pretty certain.

Yes, his D is whats kept him in the league and his corner 3 is what keeps him on the floor....Game similar to Deshawn Stevenson...

I can't find any writers that are saying this. There is a lot of buzz on twitter when you search for Bogans but no guys that have a lot of credibility are saying anything about this yet. It would be a great signing.

Former star at Kentucky - just didn't have the elite tools to be more than a role player in the NBA.

Veteran wing - probably provides you with more consistent effort in limited minutes than what you get from Bill Walker at this point. Like I said in another post, the Knicks could use some vets to teach the young guys how to succeed in the NBA.

A wing like Carmelo isn't really a great mentor - he's so talented and is such a superstar that he's allowed to break the rules.

Would this mean we're dumping Lin or Novak? Novak's terrible. It's a scary thought that I'd prefer to have Jeffries getting minutes over him.

But how would this be possible? Wasn't he in another team's roster this season? I know we just cut Lin for this, but it seems weird. Nobody else reporting it. We'll see. I'd love to see this happen, though.

If it happens, I wonder if TD gets traded...

the speculation I have heard was that they would dump Lin.

I have no idea how reliable this site is.

http://www.charged.fm/blog/post/1420/source-knicks-close-to-signing-keith-bogans

A source close to the team informed Charged.fm that the New York Knicks are close to signing veteran guard Keith Bogans. The shooting guard known for his outside shooting and perimeter defense started 82 games for the first place Chicago Bulls last season. He was waived by the Bulls on December 16th after the signing of Richard Hamilton.

Bogans, an 8-year NBA veteran and former standout at Kentucky, will provide much needed backcourt depth to a Knicks team that has struggled coming out of the gate in the lockout shortened season. On paper, he seems to address many of the Knicks current problems.

The team has struggled defending the pick and roll, switching far too often on screens and a tough-nosed defender like Bogans could help solve the problem so eloquently described by Zach Lowe of Sports Illustrated. Bogans is not an offensive force, averaging only 4.4 points per game last season and a career high of 9.6 points. However, he did shoot 38% from three last season and should have plenty of open opportunities.

Bogans was definitely released by the Bulls after they signed Rip Hamilton.

Bulls officially waive Bogans
Coach, players praise shooting guard's toughness and professionalism

INDIANAPOLIS — The Bulls unofficially waived Keith Bogans on Dec. 9 when they pulled him from the floor moments before the first practice of training camp.

They made it official Friday, days before Monday's deadline for picking up his $1.73 million team option.

In starting all 82 regular- and 16 postseason games, Bogans drew criticism from fans seeking an upgrade at shooting guard. But coaches and teammates appreciated Bogans, praising his toughness and professionalism.

Asked one question about Bogans on Friday night, Ronnie Brewer, who battled for minutes with him, took 2 minutes, 18 seconds to answer.

"Man, he summed up our team," Brewer said. "He took the ego out of it. He did his job. Thibs asked him to start, play as hard as he possibly can. Sometimes he didn't get back in until the start of the third quarter, but you didn't hear him complain once.

"He brought it every day. He was a great teammate to me. He pushed me to work hard every day. He will be missed."

The Bulls also waived Jannero Pargo, who also wasn't in camp, dropping the roster to 13. That's where it will stand for now, though a reserve big man could be added.

"We have great appreciation for what Keith did," coach Tom Thibodeau said. "He had an unbelievable year for us. He filled his role, played great defense, knocked down open 3s. He's the consummate professional. We wish him well."

Bogans has drawn interest from several teams but was extremely unhappy with the way his Bulls' stint ended.

"Hopefully, he can get on with another NBA team and find a home quickly," Brewer said. "He worked hard this offseason getting healthy and he was in great shape. We're a family. And that's like a brother not being on the team. We're definitely going to miss him."

Rumor or not our roster is already at 15. Someone would need to be released for it to happen.
