Bulls Or Knicks Could Land Dwight Howard
Jan 05, 2012 10:38 PM EST

Chicago may be a logical landing place for Dwight Howard. With fellow Adidas superstar Derrick Rose a Bull, and Joakim Noah a defensive big man who could be sent to Orlando in a trade, Howard could wind up in the Windy City.

Adidas would be delighted with that turn events, as the Nike rival ironically locks down the big Chicago market that Michael Jordan once ruled.

The Knicks may also be in the running to bring Howard to New York. Sources tell Ken Berger not to be surprised if a trade sending Amar'e Stoudemire back to his native central Florida for Howard begins to gain traction. Stoudemire's uninsurable knees and James Dolan's willingness to sign off on a trade parting with the All-Star forward are seen as the two biggest obstacles to such a deal. It could also be that the Knicks would have to include Tyson Chandler in any such discussion with the Magic.

Even Dolan is not that dumb, the question is how dumb is Orlando to take on his uninsured contract?

aaahhhh - just a big pipe dream

Doubt there is anything here, but I like and respect Stat and believe he has four more years of high caliber hoops to look forward to. All Orlando needs to consider is if he will make it through this contract. If Stat begins producing like he did pre-All Star break last year, Orlando will be very interested (assuming Chandler comes as a package deal).

The problem with that is we would have to take on TurkeyGlue and Dudu's contracts.

Who cares - its Dwight Howard. And Hedo still has some gas in the tank.

Chicago and New York have identical deals to offer....its a scary idea but Howard alone would cure rebounding and defense. The Knicks could get by and sign Kenyon Martin in march....kenyon, melo, Howard, baron, and shump....I could go to war with that...

I could go to war with Amare, melo, Tyson, baron and shump too though

Of course you do it in a heartbeat. You do it in a heartbeat even if the framework is something like Chandler/Stat for Howard/Turk.

If the deal is Amare & Chandler for Howard & Turk you do it! Hold on to Shump.

Line-up:

Pg: B.Davis
Sg: Shump, TD
Sf: Melo, Fields
Pf: Turk
C: Howard

That's a squad folks

Agreed. I love Amare but why drive the Infiniti when you can drive the Ferrari.

Iman has to be Untouchable. Everyone except for Melo(we gave up too much for him) and Iman. If they want Iman than NO deal. We need Iman to help keep guys running free into the lane. We build a team around Melo, Howard and Iman. Imagine Bdiddy,Iman,Melo,Jorts,Howard. wow.

bdiddy- 10-7
Iman - 14/5/4.5
Melo- 25/7/3.5
Jorts- 8/9/
D12- 20/12/2

Maybe we use the Mini MLE on Martin(do we have a choice?)

We would have a chance at a 7 game series at the ECF but lose because of depth to the heat or the bulls. Than pick up some role players during the summer and a REAL COACH like Phil Jackson and run the triangle or who ever is the best available coach that isn't . Maybe get Wilson Chandler if denver doesn't resign him or . Maybe have a shot at Steve Nash. Hey a guy can dream right? Boy it would be really nice. I wish... If only... sigh

Have no fear - Baron Davis will save us - and if not? Then he has another excuse.

I don't think can play PF. He can't rebound. I think melo would be better their. Melo is stronger, faster and a way better rebounder than turk.

Both Melo and D12 would be beasting in the block. I think Phil Jackson would have no choice but to come run the triangle with Howard. With D12 on the beach resting Melo becomes that post up player in the triangle offense. I'd give my right nut. I honestly think that a core of Melo/Dwight/Shump this is a dangerous team. We keep Bbiddy running point or we get Nash. Get some vets who want to come compete with the Heat. Melo and Dwight howard is the closest we will get to the level of Wade/Lebron outside of Kevin Durant after that it's a drop off. Shump isn't as good as Chris Bosh... yet but I think shump can be a 18/6/5 guy to be the third option behind melo and D12 and play the bosh role for us. Be aggressive when melo and D12 are having a bad night. Man if we can trade Amare for Dwight Howard it must be done. I know Amare came and took the challege but this is a business at the end of the day. Say what you want. If it makes us a better team we have to do it. And if we can call Orlando and say "would you be interested Amare for Dwight and anyone you want expect for melo and shump". If Orlando is willing to listen than you do it. Chandler/Amare/Fields seems like a good deal. Even if we end up being thin this season. Melo and D12 are two healthy players who have 4-5 in there prime left. We can build a great team around them moving forward after this short season. I think as a team if we lost in the first round with that core and a thin bench you still feel good going into the summer finding players to play alongside these guys.

would only want this trade if its comes with a new coach. My stomach could not handle seeing Dwight Howard shooting 3's in the wide open sets.
