Gee whiz, so that's why he put Shump and Balkman into the game and why he's tried to use Jared cuz at all times he'll pick offensive players over defensive ones! Come on man, there's ample evidence that he tries to balance things on this team but it's not easy when 2 of your main players don't defend very well.

I think that they will continue to coach these guys up on defense cuz at some point you just have to get these guys to play better team D. There's no one else they can bring in that can rescue the team.

We know that Shump is an energizer and that Balkman will hustle. I think we just need to keep searching for lineups that work defensively. Also when Jared comes back that's another good team defender to help be a glue guy on D. Jared covers a lot of ground and shows on curls and PnR.

There will come a time when this team is playing well on both sides of the ball and then all of the MDA haterz can sit back and be quiet.

When I said he goes to offense I met his coaching what they cover in practice. You think after only scoring 85 points the raptors he was preaching defense at practice? You think he was saying "keep your heads up we will win with defense our offense will come" Or do you think he came in and had these guys working on offense? Defensive coaches when their offenses fizzle they continue to preach defense no matter how bad their offense was. They have the mentality as defensive team. Teams like the bulls and the heat. The heat are a defensive team before they are the Lebron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh show. They know that their defense will eventually win them games.

What philosophy? Chuck when you see the whites of their eyes? Defensive philosophy? Lol. There hasn't been one in years. You're probably right though. If we let this go untill mid season it will really ruin the team. Better to change now.

No, what I said was this team has not been built to play strong defense. Its built to run and gun. With new players it takes time to blend that together. If you fire MDA to go to a defensive minded team that very well could stall the progress.

Thats what the Suns did when they wanted MDA out and D-minded Terry Porter. It was a disaster and they went back to running again.

If you want that kind of team you pretty much don't bring in Amare and Melo as your duo and expect any great Defense minded tough team.

This can't be fixed overnite regardless of who is at the helm.

We all read that a short preseason was going to be particularly hard on the Knicks.
