Just saw trade deadline portion of NBA Fastbreak on ESPN. DA says Knicks are still in the running for Dampier and Van Exel and there's still a chance that deal could get done that would send Thomas, Mutombo, and Anderson to Golden State. Also, it doesn't appear like New York has a deal on the table for Wallace and the front-runner to get him is Detroit. Detroit wouldn't mind just renting him out for 3 months however to make a championship run and New York would still be the favorite to sign him for the MLE this summer. If all goes as planned, here's the team we're looking at next season.
C Dampier/Mohammed
PF Wallace/Harrington/Baker?
SF Thomas/Hardaway
SG Houston/Johnson
PG Marbury/Van Exel/Norris

you know what, that line up sounds great to me and i dont think that anyone can argue that that lineup doesnt have the potential to win a championship. its also been a long time since we've seen a 50 win season and it would be great to see us leading in the standings once again next season. i only hope that dampiers numbers this season havent only been good so he could raise his value and make some big money during the off season and he doesnt play how he's playing now when and if he arrive in ny.
