When fields was first drafted i didn't expect much. But the first half of last season he played like a veteran. he was smart and tough. He made rookie mistakes but he looked like a rookie of the year candidate. Then the melo trade happened and that was it probably because 3/4 of the team was gone. I thought that this year we would see a return but maybe he just had one good half of season. I mean he used to go to the rim hard and tough and now he gets blocked by guards and looks like a scraed rabbit. Will fields ever get back to last season form is was that it in your opinion

He's not the glue guy I thought he was. Last year, I saw him do the things that don't show up in the box score. This year, I see a different player. I feel like he has regressed. But I'm still a fan. Go Landry.

He played out of his mind before the trade. I think this was because he had a good comfort level with the guys around him; lots of young guys, sort of in the same boat; a team coming together.

Melo comes, his mates shipped, he suddenly crashes down to earth, realizing he is a small little anchovy.

Feilds offense/rebounding has stunk up the joint since the break last year... On top of the fact that he doesn't guard anyone particularly well.

Everybody loves a hustler, but he's not starter on a team with a championship in mind.

Bill Walker guards just as poorly, but at least stretches the floor.

I like his hustle and how he keeps the movement of the ball but for crying out loud he can't shoot a 3 to save his life.

I have to tell you guys, I have not seen one difference in Fields' game from last year to this year. Nada.

I thought he either worked on his jump shot or there was talk about coming off of curls ala Rip Hamilton. Maybe later.

I think Fields has been much more aggressive. I am not sure why. At times it benefits him and at times it backfires but he definitely is not the steady guy that he was pre Melo trade. I only saw bits and pieces of the first three quarters tonight and I don't remember Fields standing out. I think the Knicks need him to be a a steadying presence. I get that he wants to take that next step and I hope he can without negatively impacting the team.

Fields had great first halves against the Lakers and Warriors. Tonight he had a great effort throughout. It's possible he's coming out his slump - which would be GREAT NEWS for this team.

Think about it this way - Fields came in and was great as a rookie. He had a great camp with one squad, played 40 great games with them and then 4 of the 7 guys he played with got traded and he had to adjust on the fly. He played worse, but not that much worse.

This season, he's had a short camp with the new team and is playing much better. Let's be a little patient. He's learning where and how to score with this version of the team. Long live Landry.

It also helped him tonight that he did not need to defer to both Melo and Amare. He also attacked the basket nicely tonight.

+2

Landry Field's contribution is much more than simply getting into the scoring column. He is versatile enough to advance the ball on the run and athletic enough to rebound and put back a layup in one motion. he is unselfish and rarely forces a bad shot. On this roster of strangers, that is huge. He defends well and maintains the fundamentals of positioning.

Players with his intelligence do NOT regress with experience. They improve with age.

Most of all, the dude works at Modell's and could use a raise.

Lando's game is one in the flow of the game not as a creater.

SSOL when played (ie:ball movmenment!) is his kind of game.

This is where he is the glue guy. try to win on Iso talent and he is not as effective.

Its not the lack of effort he does or does not put in, its the way the ball moves.

If the game is played in a brain dead manner (Isos) Landry is lost.

If the game is played the way it should be, Landry is deadly.

Please, no more brain dead basketball.

Rose is not the answer.

And this why Fields will be able to make comeback and TD is destined for mediocrity. Athletic ability is great thing to have but a second tier athlete with smarts is much better package than a top tier athlete who is not able to think and follow simple concepts. Athletic ability is prerequisite in the NBA, but you don't automatically become a player if you can outrun the competition. Grey matters.

I wanna that the flow from the team comes first and then the intensity and confidence from Fields emerges.
