Cue to the "its practically pre-season", "it was just a bad night" and the classic "its only been 3 games, way to overreact".

I try to be objective even in the heat of another bad loss that clearly makes you want to punch every player on the team. I'll try to be objective here:

We are a mess. One thing is to look bad a few times because of (insert excuse here a. short training camp, b. new players, c. schedule, d. bad coach) and another is to look completely out of synch in every aspect of the game.

We don't have a system right now. We don't seem to have a leader out there. We take contested jumpshots early in the clock and then fail to set positioning on defense. If we get lucky and the opposing team misses, we fail to get the rebound. No discipline on offense, nor defense. We have two head coaches, supposedly one for each side of the game, and we look worse than last year. Not even with Billups we looked this bad.

Oh, and if it were only a game, but the fact that three games in we have played exactly the same way. The only thing that saved us was Melo getting on fire in game one. But we have played exactly the same way in three games: terrible unorganized offense, defense disappears quickly, terrible turnovers and hanging heads.

I thought it was all about the PG but this looks like such a big mess that its unfair to put the savior tag on Davis.

In this season, there is no "its too early". With the short crazy schedule and all our injuries, that could mean missing the playoffs.

As some have noted, give it 15 games.

Can't disagree with what you said. But I think PG is the biggest issue. Offense is too stagnant, we're not hitting open looks, guys get disheartened and before you know it we're down double digits.

But we need to win games. We have too much talent to be playing this poorly. Coach has to be blamed.

This is a mess the Knick offense looks totally out of sync and the defense is horrendous , Baron is gonna help set up the offense but this defense is just as bad. It's gonna be a long season if they don't get it together soon.
No layups!

In this schedule, that will be pretty soon. I really want to think they need more time together, but they usually show you some improvement from game to game. So far we look stuck in terrible play and can't seem to do anything to save our lives.

my biggest problem with d'antoni is - if he doesn't have his ONE UNFLINCHING version of what a team/roster should look like, he seems to throw up his hands and give up.

Nothing wrong of it coming soon, they only had two preseason games.

McRoberts scoring so many easy baskets was a horrible adjustment.
The many turnovers was embarrassing.
They looked a lot better to me than yesterday vs Golden State.
Amare is having difficulty adjusting without a PG and playing the PF.

I saw some improvement as well from the flow of offense but not fully there.

Man that's some garbage. When has he had an ideal roster here for his style of BB? He's changed to fit with what he has and for the most part this team has been a top offensive team every year!!! Go look at the stats for the last few years and it's clear that MDA can coach offense. The biggest issue was always DEFENSE and not offense. Come on people let's not start the witch hunt crap this year. There will be plenty of time to burn MDA at the stake, but this is just ridiculous.

Ask yourself how many new players he got on year to year?

True. On paper we aren't as bad as we look. I understand the need of a PG but its alarming how terrible we look with the players we have available. Tell me what is the point of having Melo be a point forward when all he does is penetrate and shoot? Thats not Point Forward, thats just the same iso he uses most games.

What is the point of having Amar'e outside and taking the jumper with more than half the shot clock left? The guy looks lost on offense. Amar'e isn't the best in defense, but usually when he is involved on offense, he gives more effort on D. That isn't happening.

Douglas seems to be losing popularity on the team too, but then why not give a chance to Lin instead of going to weird lineups?

Chandler has been as insignificant as I never thought he would be. I bet we would've gotten the same contribution or more from Jordan had we had to start him. Really, Chandler isn't leaving the mark we all thought he would. Is it his fault or of the guy preparing them n defense?

They looked a little better, but the end result was a bad jumper. They passed the ball more but still took terrible shots.

why is he running pick and rolls with melo? who can't run pick and rolls.

you know what melo CAN do? post up. he's really great at it. HE NEVER DOES IT HERE because it's not in the d'antoni playbook. he did it once tonight at the end of the game - he broke the play. and he scored, of course.

d'antoni is a stubborn idiot. you don't NEED an all-star point guard to win in the NBA. look at the lakers. but the way d'antoni plays, you NEED an all-star point guard.

any other coach would make adjustments. he's a stubborn fool and it will lead to him being fired. he won't be the coach on opening night next season and i can't wait to be rid of him.

You will defend anyone and anything associated with the team.

A blind and deaf man could be coaching the Knicks and you'd be telling everyone to give him more time.

Your biggest criticism of the team was calling Jeffries "not a good offensive player".

I agree Melo does have a great post game but we will never see it in NY because MDA rather see him chuck 1 on 1 jumpers all day

Cut the crap...you never wanted to the do the trade in the first place. How about we live in the present and move forward. BTW, undo the trade and we're 0-3...No way we beat Boston with the old lineup....

I see his point though.

Anyway, on a positive note, if this continues for a while it is probable that D'Antoni is out. AND, there would be a chance we could trade Stat somehow with someone for D Howard.

It might be a long year getting two iso players to play with rhythem together. Not saying it can't happen, just saying. I'll pull for this team regardless.
