TRADE ACCEPTED

Due to New York, Atlanta, and Toronto being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. New York, Atlanta, and Toronto had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

You have been assigned Trade ID number 1530639

New York does this for obvious reasons.

Toronto needs a C, and a swingman now that Carter and Rose are injured. With Marshall gone, Bosh moves to his natural PF spot.

Utah gets two solid chip players for Sloan to play with in his system that will probably make them look like allstars. Osterfag succks anyways.

Atlanta gets their expiring contracts, and a C and a PF to finish out the season in Thomas and Osterfag.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

As Matt said, we would be giving up too much. At this point it is better to go after Dampier and Van Exel, and then if Sheed wants to sign with us for the MLE then we let him. I want Sheed here but its better to go after other players we have a shot at, and it is better to take a risk with Sheed and let other teams try to land him. Come this summer, I think he will be a Knick.

Pretty creative. I think the other teams get stuff that they need/want. It might be a lot of Wallace, but if they want to make this happen, they will have to give a lot.

Also, the return of Doleac softens the blow of a trade like this...

We would also have the roster space to sign Vin Baker if Isiah wants to bolster the frontcourt further (most likely, IMO).

Otherwise, if we end up with NVE & Dampier, we could still make the move for Sheed in the summer. If we can't get him today, I think the chances are very good that we successfully trade for or sign him for the MLE this offseason.

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

The hitch in the wagon is that Utah just made two moves to get Tom Gugliotta and Gordan Giricek...
