Dude is playing with energy, hustle and desire. He is absolutely impacting the game and looks really happy out there. I want him to get every second of JJ's time. Our second unit is already taking shape and showing some cohesion, more than our first unit. I think BD coming back will anchor the first unit and then we will truly have aa pretty well balanced rotation. I know it's only two games, but I didn't expect anything from Balkman, didn't even expect him to play. Gotta give respect where respect is due.

8 Rebs, 1 Ast, 1 Stl, 2 Blocks and 3 TOs in 17 mins with 6 points. That's 12-3 in terms of posession.

Balkman is going to make the rotation, and it's much deserved if he remains consistent with the solid contributions.

I'm already on deck.

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

Perhaps now people will get off Mike's back about not playing guys who can't shoot!!! It's all about the hustle and energy a player brings to the table. That's why Mike would play Jared despite his being an awful offensive player. If Balkman shows his worth he can earn minutes too. Really this is Balkman's chance to find a role in the NBA and stick for a while longer. He was on his way out and this kind of performance could keep him around.

Why do you play an 'awful offensive player' and set up a play where he is one of two offensive options in the final seconds of a playoff game? Why didn't Adelman recognize his hustle and energy when he was out of the line up in HOuston and Hill was getting minutes. I think D'Antoni's playing of Jeffries in some situations is very hard to explain rationally. He does have the coaches trust.

I've always been a balkman fan....Isiah knows how to pick talent. He might have reach a little bit in the draft, but I always thought he could be an impact player. Lots of energy on that bench.

Balk, Shump, Jorts, Jefferies, Fields, Chandler, Douglas.....Call them what you want, but these guys will hustle and bring nothing but energy and in-tangles. And they don't mind playing that role.

But Balk can be a solid player....He just needs to put down the blunt. He's too inconsistent. or is it MDA that inconsistent with his playing time?

Love the hustle. Count me a fan.

Too bad he'll be traded before New Years for a draft pick, cash and a free pharmacy courtesy card for IT.

thought it was really interesting that Melo supposedly campaigned to keep Balkman. he's been finding Balkman a lot for open dunks and layups.

with two ball dominant players, you need guys who can find the seams and make the right cuts to the basket. theoretically Landry Fields should be able to do what Balkman is doing - kind of surprised he hasn't figured that out yet.

Fields does not seem as good as advertised right now, and its funny that Balkman is the one stepping it up. Let's give it a few weeks to see if he can keep it up. I have a feeling Fields will find his place and start to shine a little more but it is encouraging that Balkman is starting to bring it a little more.

I really love it when he dunks.

I think having Melo, Stat, and Chandler is pushing the role players to step it up big time - which is exactly what we need.
