you people are looking way too much into the numbers that Dampier is putting up this year. You should look at his career numbers. The guy is only trying now because it's his contract year. Compare his career to Kurt's career and you will see how much better a player Kurt has been in this league.

I agree. The saying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" has got to be applied to this situation at some point. It takes months for a team to jell. More moves might jeapardize our playoff performance.

If we get Jersey in the first round, Tim Thomas is not going to save us... and neither is Dampier.
Let it be known: I believe in the Knicks this year-- deep into the playoffs, I swear to you my brothers...

yeah, i cringed when i heard the report too. i would'nt mind dampier becuase he is playing like a beast in the west and if he came to the east it would probably be better. but why van exel when we already have three point guards on our roster? no doubt nick at nite will help us in the playoff and could play shooting guard at times with steph but defensively it is a BIG liability. i think in the west he could get away with it becuase of the fast break speed. but in the east during the playoffs when the teams are forced to play half court sets undersized guards will get exposed. just ask new orleans. imagine us playing the pistons or indiana? hamilton and artest will have a feild day posting van exel up. what we could try for is michael pietrus. he is very athletic and could definately be steph's running mate. talk about showtime, he could provide it. i don't think he is getting to much run behind j-rich so bring him to new york. dampier and pietrus is the deal to get.

DAILYNEWS REPORTS: because the Knicks are mainly left with players with undesirable long-term contracts, the chances of a Marbury-like blockbuster for Atlanta's Rasheed Wallace are extremely slim.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

I am not for Trading KT right now. I would trade any combo of the other tradeable players for Damp or Wallace but not KT. NY needs him this season still. As an off season deal, maybe but NY does not need NVE now.

Hopefully we can somehow pull off a Kurt, harrington, Deke, Frank/Sweetney and a draft pick for Rasheed. That's what it will take to get Rasheed. Hopefully they'll take frank and not sweetney.

TRADE ACCEPTED Trade ID number 1530034

I have no idea why GS would do this BUT........
NY would have..
Marbury
Houston
TT
Wallace
Dampier
Nazr
Demarr Johnson
Penny
Norris

Resign Doleac and Sign Baker!

Now that team is interesting. I think signing an outside shooter would make it complete.

actually Van Exel can be a huge spark off the bench and we would get rid of Shandon and leave a spot open for Rasheed in the offseason.

maybe we can include another team and bring in a solid starting PF. Not Joe Smith but someone like that. I not sure if Nazr could be that guy or not, but if we re-sign Doleac then he might.

With that said. If we stay pat or maybe make a smaller deal I will be happy. Then we can start gelling and see what this team is capable of and then sign Sheed for the MLE.

At first I was completely against trading Kurt, Deke, and Shandon for Dampier and NVE. Now I'm havin mixed feelings bout it.

In one perspective, we get a new center, but a 4th PG for out startin center and pf, and our backup sg.

But, we can play nve at sg, and dampier sometimes at pf and we have a pretty good line up.

Nazr/Dampier/(Doleac?)
Dampier/Othella/Sweets
Thomas/Penny
Houston/NVE/Demarr
Marbury/Frank/NVE/Moochie

It would also open up time for sweets to play and continue to improve.

I'd do this trade in a heartbeat.Remember how productive Van Exel was with dallas off the bench... NO brainer

the only way i would do this trade is if we get doleac back. If we are going to lose our starting pf and C for a C i dont think it is work it who would be the starting PF and then that makes the bench even weeker. i dont like it very much and i think it also means that Isiah isnt confident houston will be 100% anytime soon.

with Van Exel and penny our bench will be the best in the league. Then you can play doleac and sweetney signifcant minutes. I'm all for this trade now! and who knows how healthy houston is going to be for the rest of the season. If H20 goes down, van exel can start and frank can be the backup SG.

Yea I seriously don't see why people don't want this trade to happen. I would definitely do this trade in a heartbeart. In the rumors that I have been reading, we are supposedly going to send Mutombo, S.Anderson, and KT to the Warriors for Dampier and Van Exel. That would be such a great trade for us. Dampier would be a significant upgrade over Mutombo at the C position, and Van Exel would do what he did in Dallas last year in the playoffs, which is score a lot of points off the bench. No doubt in my mind that this trade would mark us as favorites to come out of the East. I just hope the Warriors accept our offer, if they do, you will see a number of people predicting the Knicks to come out of the East.

What!?!? FWill will never get enough time. How can FWill supporters like this trade? He gets 12min and under now, how will he get more time w/ NVE and his inconsistent ass. The Knicks are gonna turn into the Yanks, but w/o all the championships.

Dampier isnt worth that much. KT is just as good. I dont care about Othella and Shandon but KT can produce. NVE just clogs up the guards.

I love Frankie just as much as any other Knick fan, but when you have a chance to bring in a guard who can take over any game coming OFF THE BENCH, I think you bring him in. Frankie is good, but lets face it, he is no Van Exel. Dampier will give us a better upgrade in the frontcourt which is what we need. By doing this trade, we get stronger in the frontcourt and in the backcourt. Frankie can still get some minutes as the backup PG, and Van Exel can off the bench as the backup SG. Plus, we don't know how healthy Houston will be come playoff time, so getting Van Exel would definitely benefit us.

Actually, i dont like Fwill. I never did. I was trying to reply to guns about how he assumed Fwill would get MORE time with NVE here. And since this board is full of FWill sympathizers, i tried to appeal to them and see why they think this trade would be good.
