I picked up Big Ben Wallace off the waiver pool. Here's the story:

I picked Robin Lopez by accident during the draft, something like the 9th round. I ran out of time and he was stupidly on my watch list, at the top no less, so the computer did me the honor.

Then immediately after the draft I dropped him for Ronnie Brewer, the transfer went down today, but then Yahoo told me that Rip Hamilton was going to take Brewer's minutes, and this made sense to me. So I looked up Big Ben's numbers and saw that he had 2 blocks in 10 minutes last night, and this was good for me. If he gets as little as 15-20 minutes this year he will give me almost two swats a game. I think this is more valuable than anything Brewer would give me.

Depends on your league rules, scoring, size, etc. but Ben has zero fantasy value at this point. He will rarely play and won't get you any other stats, will kill you if he gets to the FT line, and you should be able to pick up other people off the waiver wire that are more valuable and who'll contribute in more than one category.

I have a serious dilemma in my league. I have to pick two keepers. One of my keepers will be Eric Gordon as a 4th round pick, which I think is very good. The other keeper decision I have to make is for Gallinari in the 10th round or Andray Blatche in the 11th round. Both steals at that point in the draft, but...

Who would you keep, Blatche or Gallo?

It's a tough call but I would go with Gallinari. That team is his for the taking, so I'm expecting a break out year. Blatche will give you more boards, but Gallinari shoots a ton of free throws at almost 90% and look for his three ball to come back with anger this year. Plus Gallo has been keeping sharp in Milan and should enter the season in stride. He wouldn't surprise me with something like 18-20 points per game.

My league is a head to head, it's the one joec runs, and right now there is nothing good on the waiver wire. And it's deep with 16 teams so there are a bunch of garbage players on every team. I wouldn't mind a block and five or six boards from Big Ben; I see him getting 20 minutes no problem.

Thanks Man - that's exactly what I'm thinking, so I'm keeping him and Gordon. I have the 7th pick, so I'll get Eric Gordon in the 4th Round and Gallo in the 10th - not bad. I'm hoping to land Deron with the 7th pick and maybe Dirk or Aldridge in Round II.

16 teams is DEEP! My league is 12 and the waiver wire is a bit better, but still challenging. If that's the case, you can hold Ben for a little while, but be on the lookout for injuries that can open the door for others. I like Mozgov late this year - is he free in your league? Probably not...

I don't know, Gallo has looked ****ty, isn't putting up the numbers I hoped for or the 3's, but you are right, Blatche looks worse. How's your team doing? Mine has started out crappy...

Yea, Gallo has not performed to expectation, but he's a better choice than Blatche. He will heat up, I think, and should be good for some awesome weeks.

I'm alright. In joec's league I'm up 9-5 for the week and should seal the win tonight. In my second league, I am leading 1060-1000 going into tonight, so it will be interesting.

I went with Moz instead of Big Ben and if he can come close to what he did last night on some regular basis, this will have been a strong choice.

What's going on, how crappy is it going?

How about Gallo now? He had one of those bomb-diggity stretches!

Yes! he is peforming very well for me right now and I can only hope that he stays healthy. Injuries are such a factor when it comes to whether or not you have a good fantasy season and for the last 4 years, I've been screwed. Perhaps this is my year, although my other keeper, Eric Gordon, has only played in two games so far. My sqauds are doing pretty well. How's yours?

We're strong. In my second league I picked up Calderon late, very late in the draft and I got Spencer Hawes off the waiver wire! They're carrying me to 2-0 and first place, which is fortunate because my first two picks, Wade and Dorell Wright, have been fat flops. I'm hoping Wright wakes up and Wade can come back strong from that injury.

In the UK league, the one joec runs, it's a mixed bag. I was stubbornly hanging to Pekovic up to today, but I finally gave up. Deng and Augustin have played well but Scola is letting me down. Taj Gibson is my second leading shot swatter and Derrick Rose should bring his points up soon.

Wade is killing me with this ankle business. Now that's serious.

So I did the dirty: took on Pau and J-Dudley, gave up Deng and Scola.

Give me some thoughts on this.

My reasoning is that Pau is a top-10 baller and J-Dudley is going to snap out of his three point shooting funk soon. Plus J-Dudley doesn't turn the ball over.

Good trade. Not to worry, although you better hope Dudley returns to form...

I better. Pau should have some fire under his ass and maybe drop some 40 point games. That would be ideal.

May Deng burn out like a candle.

Ya - Dudley may not even start any more this season. Rough trade, but you never know. PHX lineups are in flux. I can't quite figure out my teams. I'm in two category based, H2H leagues and my team is slightly above average. I have Eric Gordon on both squads and he is killing me with his pussification right now.

Deng will miss a few weeks, it looks like it's going in his ass now.
