He showed last yr that he can hit the 3 point shot last yr in big games. He also showed a more matured stevenson from earlier in his career with Washington. He showed he start on quality team as SG. allows Shumpert to stregthen our depth on bench and scoring.

trade Walker Douglas Fields true PG who can hit the outside shot

Stevenson would probably be better than Fields, but I am fine with the team as it is. I want Shumpert to get minutes and Stevenson would stunt his growth. Ig you sign Stevenson, then you almost have to make trade of Fields.

as right now with BD sidelines, Shumpert Stevenson backcourt have us go from worst to best defensive team. Chandler can protect Stat and Melo on the wings. If he does not have to worry about PG and SG driving in.

I have Shumpert ahead Fields and Douglas at either guard position. bc defense on opposing pg's is so vital to our success, we need Shumpert to start and finish. Douglas get lost and confused especially against the Rose D-will Rondo Nelson-1st tier 2nd tier Wall Holiday Jennings Hill Sessions . I think almost every starting PG in EC is better than Tony Douglas. I think Davis is better than him. Don't get me wrong Douglas has big games here and there but their no consistency with him and there proablly won't be any in near future. He is at best backup PG better suited backup SG. His on ball defense is awful not because he lacks atheletism, but bc he just not smart defender. He consistently never picks up defender at 1/2 court. He picks him at the 3 point line. He going to make Chandler angry. Fields is just slow of player at SG. Talented but atheletic speed to stay with quicker smaller SGs, will get lost on the pick.

Douglas/Bibby-PG Fields-SG Novak/Walker-SF Jorts/Novak-PF Jorts/Jeffries-C is solid bench

I dont think there is a player out there that clearly makes us better at this money. My vote would be Reggie Evans but we are OK

I don't think he's head and shoulders better than Fields, nor is he dramatically better than a Shumpert (a guy w/ no NBA experience). I think the Knicks believe that both of our guys have starter or better upside.

At the same time, he'd be an awesome deep bench addition and give us some championship chops and veteran... urhm, leadership? (thinking back to his story about public intoxication after winning a ring - he claimed he couldn't find the keys to his car, I believe - which probably was a good thing!)
