What is the rotation when Davis is healthy? MDA likes to keep his rotation very tight so that must be kept in mind.

C Chandler 30 mins (10 pts, 10 rebs)
PF Stoudemire 36 mins (23 pts, 8 rebs)
SF Anthony 36 mins (27 pts, 7 rebs, 4 asts)
SG Fields 30 mins (10 pts, 6 rebs)
PG Davis 30 mins (13 pts, 8 asts)
6th Douglas 24 mins (10 pts, 3 asts)
7th Shumpert 24 mins (9 pts, 3 asts)
8th Jeffries 20 mins (3 pts, 3 rebs)
9th Harrelson or Balkman 10 mins

11th Bibby
12th Walker

Pretty sure Bibby will be the odd man out at some point but will see all of the minutes that are created by injury. I also see Shumpert taking over the starting SG at some point, but i really like him and Douglas bringing the offense off the bench for this season. I think it will go along ways for Fields knowing they are committed to him at SG for this season no matter what. But Shumpert is absolutely a future starter on this team, either at the PG or SG, but more likely SG.

don't agree. He's gonna play some solid off-the-bench minutes. at least 10-15 minutes.

This is a healthy prediction, but we know how it goes every year, there will always be some surprises. Shumpert might not see time for a long time, maybe not until late in the season, for example. Counting on Davis for 30 minutes, this is optimistic I think. But we will see how he looks when he is fit, how fit will he be? Bibby will see strong time early in the season. He can bleed the nets with his three-point shooting and this is something MDA will enjoy, plus Bibby is a healthy, veteran character that will execute MDA's design without problem.

Bibby will absolutely get mins, but i'm thinking not more down the line when the rotation in more set, providing there are no injuries. But i'm he will still find a way to get his 10-15 mpg for most of the season.

What happens if Bibby impresses early in the season and we are something like 13-1 when Baron Davis comes back? How do we introduce BDiddy then?

B-Dizzle or BDiddy? Only The Answer Man Knows For Sure

Q. MarburyAnd1Crossover - What happens if Bibby impresses early in the season and we are something like 13-1 when Baron Davis comes back?

A. Hell freezes over.

Q. MarburyAnd1Crossover - How do we introduce BDiddy then?

Reasons why I am liking Bibby:

1) he wanted to be here, has a great additude and showed up in shape ready to play
2) he knows he has to earn his minutes and he knows his role...set up the O, spread the floor, hit the open 3
3) his dad was on the championship team of 73'...that is a heck of alot of motivation and good Karma

If Bibby plays well enough where there's a competition for minutes, that would be awesome. Otherwise he's insurance for TD regressing, BDiddy getting injured, etc.

Another interesting rotation ?:

Who's the first guy off the bench to spell Melo?

Who's the primary backup PF?

Right now it's looking like Jefferies. Skurry

Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

This was something like my thinking when I picked him up with the last pick of the fantasy draft, much to Allanfan20's consternation.

Could put me over the top, and put the Knicks over the top, too. Although at this point I am not sure if I am rooting more for the Knicks or my fantasy team, because this is my first adventure in the fantasy universe, and I am overwhelmed.

Contrary to the rotation provided at the beginning of this thread, I predict that by the time Baron Davis joins the Knicks and is ready to play, Jorts and Balkman will be averaging more minutes than JJ does. (Say 14 minutes each for Jorts and Balkman, and 12 minutes for JJ.)

I see Jorts as our first option off the bench at back up center. He has considerable upside to him, but I think with his strength, and hustle, he can soon make a nice contribution to our interior defense. Balkman is likely to become our first player off the bench at power forward. Plus, as a consequence of Jorts and Balkman scoring much more frequently than JJ, our opponents are much less likely to double one of our stars when they are on the floor. (Double teams are much more common, when JJ is playing.)

BD should average a double double in points/asts. JJ will end up getting minutes over Jorts/Balky == not hat I want him to get any minutes at all. But MDA favors vets and people who know the system.

I disagree about Bibby. I think he will get his minutes. I do agree that Jordan will not be in the rotation. It will be interesting to see how things playout with Jorts and Jeffries. Jorts looks good on the court and is huge. D'Antoni's fondness for Jeffries can't be questioned. Hopefully Jorts gets the back up center minutes and Jeffries covers the forward spots.

I agree MDA does love JJ, and when he got rid of Balkman for next to nothing, it sure did look like he wanted nothing more to do with Renaldo. But at the same time, MDA is very sensitive and aware about how efficiently his players are playing. Proof was when he made Landry the starting shooting guard right before the last season started.

At the same time, he needs to win this year big time, or he knows he will be replaced. Therefore, he can't afford the luxury of playing JJ, if someone else can do better. MDA had to see how easy it was for Balkman to score in his system. Time after time, he was cutting to the basket and getting easy open layups. How do you say no to those points. Amare will likely also notice that he has an easier time scoring when Balkman is playing, because Balkman will demand someone covering him continuously. So I am betting that MDA will make the best decision for the Knick's team, in which case someone other than JJ, will be backing up at center and at power forward.
