I think I would take a chance on both ASAP to lock them up. Given the low salaries involved there is so lil risk involved with very intriguing possibilities.
I never liked Arenas but for Vet minimum would be a steal.

Gilbert was brutal in orlando, it was a bad fit from the jump..Gilbert still has skills, but he's not a bench player yet..Brining off the bench in orlando, he really looked out of sorts, terrible shot selection (26% 3pt fg, 34% fg)
But his first 21 games with the wiz, he looked more comfortable, and his #s were slightly higher..
Makes no sense to bring here at all

I don't see how Melo and Amare would wanna share their shots with Arenas. Baron has been a scorer alot of his career because he has been forced to be, but I really believe he will be a successful distributor on this team and serve as a very good 3rd scorer in spots.
But Arenas seems like one too many ingredients that would ruin the recipe for success.
Does anyone know how Dwight felt about playing with him? I wish we knew how Amare and Melo really felt about all of this. I know Amare said what he said, but I think it was a smoke screen (because he said "the guy's out 8-10 weeks") to keep teams uninterested in Baron's services while he went through the waiver process.

Arenas is terrible and crazy, just say no. The only reason to do it is if it improves their chances of getting Baron Davis.
Now the joy of my world is in Zion
How beautiful if nothing more
Than to wait at Zion's door
I've never been in love like this before
Now let me pray to keep you from
The perils that will surely come

If we sign Arenas to a 2 yr veteran's minimum deal we might be able to trade him for some picks or a decent young player. If he comes back to form I could see some teams out there willing to trade a 1st rounder for him. Maybe more depending on much he has left to show.

I'm not so sure Davis is even realisticly interested..after shawne, hill, and JC (i love playing in NY) snub us, and he's (baron) from LA, not to mention TiTle contender, why would he play for the KNICKS instead.

debatable whether the lakers have a better shot at the finals than the knicks. they're in serious turmoil right now.

With the way sterlling belittled him, why wouldn't he want a shot at redemption.

perhaps. but would he want to play in the same building as his old team, right when they get chris paul?
knicks are in the race. i think they'll get him. miami and lakers are always in the race, too. here we go.

Do you think were better then the HEAT or The LAKERS..maybe, maybe not, but we all three have a few things in common, "The lack of a true play making PG" badly, all three are in big markets with at least 2 bonifde allstar/super star.
Without being Bias, where would you go?? WITHOUT BEING BIAS..
