D'Antoni didn't sound as if the Knicks are interested in Michael Redd: "It’s not really position we’re looking for."

D'Antoni added "We’d like to have a little bit bigger guy that can go back to the four some. "

Al Iannazzone twat it.

I'm pretty tired of following free agency rumors, but this gives you some sense of the Knicks' direction (an appropriate one, I think).

RE: Leon Powe
I know that he's had serious knee issues....bring him in for a physical and see whatsup....vet minimum contract....he's only 27 y.o. (seems like he's been around forever, doesn't it?) and a great character guy/solid citizen and a positive addition for the clubhouse....solid rebounder and defender....can spell Amare at the 4 for limited minutes?...back of the rotation type of guy...he played in 30 games last year....just sayin'

Definitely worth a look see if he's available. But I don't think he has been amnestied yet, has he?

Powe is an UFA who played 16 games for Memphis after being waived by the Cavs in February.

Powe is a hell of a warrior, particularly on the defensive side. His only weakness seems to be the fact that his body seems to continue to break down. I read that he got signed by Cleveland last spring for 2 years. Did Cleveland have the right to cancel after one year, or who did Powe become a free agent?

Powe was waived by the Cavs after their two trades in February to get the roster down to 15. He was picked up by Memphis and played the rest of the season (he played in 16 games) with them. He is now an UFA.

Another intriguing candidate for our bench is SF James Posey...he'd be a good replacement for Shawne because of his ability to knock down the 3. Posey just went through amnesty waivers and is free to sign with any team.

You seem to be all up to speed on your FA news. Thanks for the clarity. Powe was a good player, Posey and Swilliams probably very similar too. I think MDA and front office have seen enough to not worry about a third scoring option? That would mean they are high on Iman. Of you assume that next need is backup PF. Is he even on anyone's radar?

I remember Leon Powe looked decent last year. Posey on the other hand looks shot. He deson't even hit three point shot isn't really that good anymore.Brian Cook is still available. He doens't really play defense, but he stretches the floor at PF.

I think that the Celtics would probably love to have Posey back....they've been looking for his replacement for three years...since he's already been in the Celtics system, he should be a fast learner for the shortened season. But, he would fit well in 's system, too.

The Celtics would love to have Posey back...if it was Posey from three years ago. But the dude is 35 now and he plays like it.

And, since many of the Celtics are the same age, he'd fit right in!!
