KNICKS SIGN JEROME JORDAN

NEW YORK, December 15, 2011 – New York Knickerbockers Senior Vice President, Basketball Operations and Interim General Manager Glen Grunwald announced today that the team has signed center Jerome Jordan to a contract. Per team policy, terms of the deal will not disclosed.

Jordan, 7-0, 240-pounds, had his draft rights acquired from Milwaukee in exchange for cash considerations on Jul. 8, 2010 after being selected by the Bucks in the second round (44th overall) of the 2010 NBA Draft. He spent parts of each of the last two seasons playing overseas for KK Hemofarm in Serbia after four seasons at the University of Tulsa. He averaged 11.3 points, on .567 shooting from the field, 7.4 rebounds and 2.50 blocks in 133 games (119 starts) for the Golden Hurricane. He was selected to the Conference USA All-Defensive Team each of his last three seasons and earned Second Team All-Conference USA honors as a senior after averaging 15.4 points, 9.1 rebounds and 2.34 blocks in 35 games (all starts). He is the only player in Conference USA history to record at least 800 rebounds and 300 blocks, and is the all-time Conference USA and Tulsa leader in blocked shots.

I think he will eventually get shipped to D League, with Hunter, being the better talent over him.

and

Jorts
Jared Jeffries

being in the same talent area of Jordan.

Anyone know if we send a player do D League, their pay instantly gets reduced, I remember reading about this in the summer?
I am not sure if it was just proposed under the CBA or if it is official...

I don't believe they ever instituted that idea of reduced D-League salary.

Jorts is more skilled than you give him credit for. Have you ever watched Jorts play? Jorts only problem is that he was a late bloomer. He didn't really take things serious until last year. He does have skills tho. He's not the most physically gifted player, but he knows what he's doing and has put in the work. Amazingly he's got good feet for his size. Jorts is very good at PnR. He battles on the boards and uses his girth and strength well. Biggest thing with him is his tenacity.

http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/7220959/nba-lockout-players-unlikely-accept-owners-proposal-sources-say

doesn't sound like it is approved to me?
With this, the owners can make a bad contract, miserable forcing a buyout?
For instance, lets use Balkman as an example,

Balkman, let me buy u out for 2m for u 2 years of salary owed. While Balkman's contract is 1,675,000 per year.
If not, he get's sent to the D league, in which his salary would be reduced and will make less than 2m, staying with the Knicks.
However, it's a losing battle for Balkman either way, Knick's would be wasting a roster spot in a sense....

to Balkman, for his talent and caliber, it isn't that bad.

But lets think about what owners could do to many of other players including

Rip *b4 he was bought out*
Baron Davis *b4 amnestied*
Rashard Lewis
Jamison
Travis Outlaw

they could really hurt these guy's contracts, basically voiding the contract while making the player miserable.

YUP! This is one of the reasons the Knicks drafted him. MDA and Walsh saw that he had the kind of skills to fit into what MDA does. People just assume that Jorts is some scrub cuz of where he was picked. When will fans learn that when it comes to this Management group they look for guys who have NBA skills. Guys like Fields who may not get love from the draft gurus, but when you do your research you can find quality role players anywhere in the draft.

I like Harrellson a lot. However, I am not sure how much of a prospect he is. I really want him to succeed. I think this management group takes a long look at character and maturity when they make a pick. That isn't a strategy that most nba teams use when they are picking late in the draft. I think using that philosophy paid off big when they took Fields. For instance I thought they were crazy to pass on Lance Stephenson who turned out to have character and maturity issues.

JJ 7'
I hope he works out to be Dale Davis!
If you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train.

talent sometimes doesn't beat hard work and ethics.
A lot of players have to continue to work, train, and develop for years.

It's hard to predict the development of a player because you can't fully. Sometimes that doubt, getting pick late in the draft, or not picked up at all, can make that player
work 10x harder, and sometimes it can defeat their whole morale. So, how we would say, well if we picked him at pick 34, it might not have worked that way...
This is why I am so high on Iman? Because he was off the charts with the physical talents and we saw him working hard n grinding when he didn't have to.

This is also why I love the acquisition of Green and Hunter as well. We need players to know what hard work means and its infectious, to have the guys around them to remember that.
I wish them both the best and hope they will get a shot to fill a role we very much need.
I just hope, we have a contract in which ensures we can have their (2years)early bird rights or (3years) full bird rights.

Green looks he his game is somewhere between Wilson Chandler/Derrick Brown to me.
Hunter looks like he can be a great PF/C off the bench and can even possibly start at PF if Stat is hurt...

I think Jorts will be a low budget Kevin Love.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt
