According to Mike Wilbon who was just on Mike Lupica's show on ESPN radio...Wilbon says that Phil Jackson said he will return to the NBA next year and the term he uses is "Completing the Square"...

Only a Championship win can save MDA if Phil wants this job...

If Phil Jax wants this, nothing can save MDA.
You think Dolan would let a thing like a championship interfere with the grand design?
TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

I'd ship D'antoni to another moon if it meant getting Jackson.

Adding Chandler would seem to set us up for a move to Phil's Triangle offense anyway. Ready for such a change. I am done with the Mike _'Antony. Maybe Kobe will sign on as a vet min SG for a year just to grab an extra chip.

I never really got over Phil coaching the Bulls from those brutal Knick years(losses to the Bulls)...We were so close...Then Phil went on to the Fakers...I don't know man..Not sure if I can show Phil the love after all those years...A ring changes everything tho...

Dude, he has always been a Knick. He got roots here man, raised his kids in Woodstock. He loves NY still but he had a job to do. Coaching MJ and Kobe isn't something a wise coach thinks about too long.

He can take over a roster here with the type of players that can make his triangle O shine. I bet it's already a fait accompli.

I would reserve judgement on D'antoni until he finishes his first season with a complete team.
He has had a roster turnover pretty much every season he has been with us.

If Phil Jackson is talking about coming back, that means he either wants to go back to LA (if they get Howard or Paul) or coming to the Knicks.
My only problem is the guy never coaches a team that isn't already totally stacked.
At least D'antoni chose us over Chicago and wanted to be here for the team.. not because it would be easy.

That's just my 2 cents.
I can understand why a lot of fans would salivate at the thought of having him on the team.
If D'antoni leads us to a championship this year. I would absolutely want him back.

If we make it to the ECF and he learns how to call a timeout, I'd bring D'Antoni back.

I respect the teams that beat us. We were unlucky in '94, but the facts are we competed and lost. They were the most amazing series, ditto against Miami. I bear no grudges, just a greater determination to get that monkey off the back. We have a team now that can do it (especially if Iman rises to his potential). Jax would be the final piece. Stat, Melo, Chandler, and co. will be able to compete for a number of years, just like the 90s. Looking forward to it. Hope Stat keeps healthy.

I am with holfresh on this one.

I would even add that the favorable ref calls cost us at least 2 playoff series against the Bulls in the 90s.

To this day I still absolutely hate Tim Hardaway, Alonzo Mourning, Reggie Miller, Sam Cassell, & Robert Hory.

As for the coaches, I don't like Phil Jackson or Pat Riley... Big Time!!!

I agree totally. The 90s were a great time to be a Knick fan -- and MJ, Jax and the Bulls were a big reason. I had season tix back then, and there was nothing in sports like Bulls-Knicks at the Garden, refular season or, especially, playoffs. And no road crowd appreciated MJ like the MSG fans. Did he frustrate the hell out of us? Of course. But without the Bulls-Knicks rivalry, the 90s would not have been the same, and Jax was a huge part of that.

That said, bring Phil on. I'd gladly help roll out the red carpet. And I agree that the Chandler pickup makes our team so much more enticing for him.
