In most advanced scenario discussed, Blazers swingman Gerald Wallace would join Nets center Brook Lopez as principal pieces Magic would get

https://twitter.com/#!/ESPNSteinLine

Lopez/Wallace for Howard? not a very good deal for the magic if you ask me. howard should get you a bigger haul than paul does and this is nowhere close to what the clips are offering for noh (i know the scenarios are different with the leauge behind involved and all but still)

If I were the Magic GM, I would try to send Dwight out of the conf and send him to the Clippers. Target DeAndre Jordan(S/T), Bledsoe, Gordon and both 1st round picks they have this summer unprotected. That would be the price for Superman.

Dwight/Griffin/Butler would be a pretty good frontline with Billups and Mo Williams at the guard spots.

Basically, try to get the Paul package for Dwight.

Good play, would have to wait like 3 months?

very good trade scenario you've listed and it would be great for the magic. problem is, does dwight want to play with clips and another post presence in blake?

That's all I think it is- rumors. The Magic would be fools to trade Dwight for Lopez and Wallace. Even some draft picks being added would still be a lowball deal IMO.

The Magic should try to get as much as they can for Dwight, and if a team wants him that bad, let them overpay for a star caliber player just like we did for Melo.

After the way the Nets upped the ante on the Melo deal, costing us much of our youth, I'd like to see Karma kick the Nets in the butts when they try to get a star player. It just so happens that, unlike the Knicks, the Nyets' relevance hinges upon getting Dwight Howard on that team. If they fail in doing so. it'll teach them a lesson and leave them humbled for quite some time.

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

UPDATE: A league source told CBSSports.com that the Magic are "not in a rush to do anything," and that the team's first priority is to keep Howard. The scenario as currently constructed with Wallace joining Lopez in Orlando as the primary pieces is not enough to persuade the organization to move forward with the deal quickly, the person said.

"If people think things are imminent, then they're being led down the wrong path," the person said.

The problem with Howard is he needs to be paired with a top tier guard to make noise or be on a very deep team.

A front court of Howard and Griffin would be beastly but the problem is they both suck at free throws and neither has a jump shot. So that wouldn't be a problem.

I still thinks he goes to the Nets along with Turkeyglue.

Howard is going to give them the Shaq treatment and leave them with nothing.

Hate to agree with Anubis but Howard Griffin not a good match-same game, both have to be within or around the key.

The Magic want to get rid of Turk. The priority for them is getting space to rebuild.

Orlando has officially off taken Howard off the Market

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

It looks like the Orlando Magic is halting all Dwight Howard trade talk for now:

Magic Ends Trade Talks For Howard

The Magic has ended trade talks for Dwight Howard, league sources said.

This would seem to indicate that the team intends to at least start the season with Howard and attempt to convince him to remain in Orlando beyond this season.

The Nets had been in pursuit of Howard and were reportedly constructing a complicated trade to acquire him.

Good. I hope he stays in Orlando, and re-ups there, too.

Howard seems like a flake to me. Guy flip-flops about trade demands, whines about "Not having a relationship" with his GM and can't make up his mind. Orlando has not made the best choices but they have been under pressure from him for a while now under the threat of leaving.

Its bad business. Maybe Ewing is tryint to talk sense into him? Maybe Orlando needs to move on without him and his diva act and diversify with a rebuild.

I don't know but the they guy can come out after this season but we all know they don't really come out and leave money on the table.

Or leave the closet............

Howard and Paul will likely leave their teams with a whole lot of nothing.

I doubt teams are going to improve their offers come the deadline.

Clippers have cap space to sign Paul this summer.

Nets have cap space to sign Howard this summer.

Hornet and Magics will receive a first round pick and end up with a low draft pick in a solid draft.

Those two teams will show players they wont be bullied into trading them.

ESPN's Chad Ford reported that Orlando turned down a three-team deal netting them Lopez, Gerald Wallace and five first-rounders, along with a chance to dump every bad contract it has.

I just read this in Simmons' column; I can't believe Orlando turned that down. I can't imagine they'll get a better offer.

They won't make it to free agency.

Gilbert thought Lebron was going to stay. These guys are not staying.

5 first rounders? I don't know what positions. Deep draft!

And Fran Vasquez gotta be out there somewhere?

As opposed to what they're going to get when he walks away at the end of the season? And it's not as if those picks will be at the end of the draft; unless the Nets can get some more talent to surround Dwight and Deron, any picks from NJ should be middle of the first round. And any picks from Portland could very well be in the lottery. And then if they are dumping their bad contracts that would, by my count, cut about $40M from their cap figure next year http://hoopshype.com/salaries/orlando.htm. That would allow the to do what Sea/OKC and Portland had done over the last 5 or 6 years and take on others bad contracts along with future firsts. It's almost certainly a better haul than what NO had agreed to with LA and Houston.
