What strikes me is the degree of difficulty of those shots. He doesn't create or take many easy shots.

they are re-airing most of melo's games as a Knick on Knicks in 60.
the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

Look at the roster he was playing with without Amare/Billups! Up against Boston in the playoffs - he wasn't going to get many 'easy shots'.

He takes those shots all the time regardless of who he's playing with though. He has that shot where he takes one dribble and then fades away (fades back) or fades to the side. My guess is he makes about 40% of them. It's a good weapon to have if the shot-clock is winding down and you have to force up something. Then if you can get off a shot that you'll make 40% of the time, that's the best you can ask for. It's not a good shot when there's a lot of time left on the shot-clock though.

I agree that sometimes he forces things instead of instead of waiting for the easier easier shot, mostly because he's talented enough to make them, but that was irrelevant for this game. His options were take to the hard shots and put this team on his back or pass it to Jeffries for the easy...oh wait.

He still needs to build up chemistry with STAT. Melo's used to being 'the guy'. We're stilling going to run things through him, but hopefully playing with another star will help him play more within the flow.

He looked like Bernard King that nite.

Great playing on a short roster.

Big night for a losing team.

Be patient, this team can't be about who drops 40, its about ball movment and the wins!

When its orchestrated and in motion its a wonderful thing. Ball movement and execution is like modern dance. 5 players in synch. No iso statistic building but running and passing to easy baskets.

SSOL with a defensive stopper!

Im a lot more excited about having him now than I was before Chandler. I really feel like Chandler can be the lynch pin that takes a Melo/Amare combo from being entertaining to watch and transforms that group into probably the best frontcourt in the NBA.

We need our guards to defend and defend well. If Douglas, Shumpert and Fields can all be effective defensively with Chandler in the middle and Amare/Melo scoring like they do the Knicks will be among the NBA elite. It may take some time but it will happen.

With Jerome, Harrelson and even JJ Skinny we had good depth up front. To me the backcourt is a total mystery. We dont need those guys to be stars, but they need to take care of the ball, hit the open jumpers and defend, they really need to defend

ROckets won two in a row with Kenny Smith. Not taking anything away from him, he was a very good player and had some good moments.

The point is he was no "STAR"!

who had years and years of big game experience. Also, Kidd never got by on athleticism. I don't even remember ever seeing him dunk the ball. The guy got by off of great conditioning and basketball smarts. I wish we had Kidd running our offense. That would be the final piece of the puzzle.

Kidd was the best rebounding guard in the league. He was the best fast break PG in the league. He got into the paint at will and found open shots. He could post you like Mark Jackson. Any night could be a triple double and he was an elite defensive player as well. Which one of those things is he now? He's about 3 years past being a bigtime player

Yeah, he's a much better asset now that we have players with other defined roles that aren't just scoring. When we made the trade, scoring wasn't a problem in the first place, yet we traded guys who played defense, so then, it was bad. Now we have Tyson who fits in perfectly and guys off the bench who can play some defense. I just want to see an end to that coast to coast stuff that Melo does. It's irritating. When he's hot though, there's not a player you'd raher watch because he's so smooth. If we had Stat that series, it wouldn't have been 0-4.
