D'Antoni didn't even give Brewer a chance last time if I recall correctly.

I'd rather have TD/Fields than Rudy/Brewer.

nah, D'Antoni usually keeps at least 3point guards on the roster. Bibby has Rautins Spot, and Davis would start keeping Douglass in the role he is accustomed to. Last season I believe we had 4 of them on the roster. Chauncy, Douglas, Carter and Rautins.

Well - I'd say yes to the original question but I'd go in different direction.

you know, I would not be mad at that. Not at all.

People value Douglass like he's a soon to be allstar but, he will imo never develop sufficient point guard instincts to be the answer. I love his defense and hustle and a part of me hates to lose the perimeter defense by trading him for Jamal but, Jamal brings a veteran savvy he lacks and knows how to pass the ball.

We haven't had an alley-oop passer since he left.

I can't even imagine where an arguement against this sits. Rudy and Brewer have had plenty of chances to make a name for themselves in this league and both of them make Jared Jefferies look like a star.... and Davis is old as hell and close to the lowest he can be... yet we want to give up Fields, who had a great season last year, and Douglas, who might be better than Davis right now.

if we are going to zone defense with chandler in the middle

guys like Jeffries Brewer and Shumpert are the perfect guard forward compliments to this type of system.

well, luckily we have two of those three. brewer doesn't seem like he's ever gonna get it, unfortunately.

Fernandez is in better spot shooter than Douglas and Fields, which is compliment the rest of this offense. Melo will be solid but I think Stat will get better with Chandler in.

Unless we can pull Aaron Afflalo who is perfect compliment a spot shooter who plays solid defense

spot shooters at the PG and SG position who can defend are the best thing to compliment our front court.
