It remains to be seen, but I bet players will not soon forget which owners were the ones out to screw them the most during the CBA negotiations. I would not be surprised to see teams like Denver finding it extremely difficult to attract big name free agents regardless of how much cap room they possess.

I wouldn't be surprised if Cleveland has to overpay from this point out just to get mediocre talent.

Is their money still green? Then they wont have a problem.
Some men see things as they are and ask why. I dream things that never were and ask why not?

Really...I think we are already seeing it. You have two players that have been model citizens for their entire careers coming out and asking for trades. Chris Paul from a team owned by the league and Dwight Howard now making statements publicly against the Magic owner. Then you have Nene who looks as if has zero intentions of singing with Denver...and other Nuggets bolting for China of all places. To date, Charlotte's big move has been the signing of Derrick Brown

The writing is on the wall my friend...

Nene has been pissed since Carmelo was traded. He felt he should have been extended before the season ended so, the strike has no bearing on that (from what I can see). Paul,...did anyone doubt he wouldn't request a trade. So, I don't think the strike had any bearing on that either.

Dwight has always publicly criticized VanGundy publicly. Says he it too negative and yells too much and went to the media with it in years past.

Yeah I agree. Money is usually the deciding factor in most cases. Just ask J.J. Barea. Also, I've never heard of Gilbert treating his own players bad. I mean, how many times have you worked for a boss that you can't stand on a personal level? Most people just continue on as long as their job does right by them.

sure...i admit that it's all speculation and circumstantial...but weird stuff keeps happening, like Baron Davis leaving camp with a stiff back.

Gilbert leaving with back is likley ploy to not get picked up.

Dwight to me sounds like a whiney BITCh saying he is offended about not being tight with his GM.

Looks to me the team has bent over backwards to get him talented. He can't hit a foul shot.

Paul wants to me in a big market and make money. Melo wanted NY and his money, and NENE wanted to be paid and I don't think he is worth the big money he was asking. Kenyon Martin is afree agent and not healthy for long stretches, JR is a freaking indiot, and Wilson went for the money.

They traded Raymond because he did not want to compete with Lawson and Portland wants him. If he does well they likley would look to extend him.

I don't see this "Backlash"........I think Gilbert gave Lebron EVERYTING and Lebron treated him like dirt. Gilbert is pissed. YOu never hear about Gilbert other than about his anger at Lebron and the paul trade. Boozer left Cle when Gund owned the team.

Dwight is a role player. LImited offensive game and seems to be a mental midget.

team's are trying to pull a Denver, but those team's aren't the Knicks.
But it looks like we were able to rebuild a supporting cast after all.
I also believe

DH
Cp3 are both >>> melo

Brussard reporting NOLA prepared to let Paul play it out and let him decide his path. He can leave via free agency or resign with Nola but they won't let him dictate the terms. Decision based on principle than basketball.

I guess right or wrong its the leagues team and they can do what they want with it.

I wonder if they thinking of folding it?

Take the lose, then in a year or so expand. Net same difference but they won't have to worry about NOLA lease.

Dispersement draft.

Sorry the league is making an example of Paul. He is s good dude but everyone is playing by the rules.

doesn't look like Orlando is in any hurry to deal Howard.

The real test of this theory will be how the Bobcats do in Free Agency.
Michael Jordan was the greediest & least compromising owner in the CBA talks.
If anyone is going to feel a backlash from DouchBaggery it is him...

so far...they have picked up Derrick Brown and it was reported that they might put a bid in on Billups, effectively blocking him from becoming a FA and choosing his own destination (IMHO). They have DJ Augustin as their starting PG and they just signed their first round pick Kemba Walker who is also a PG and is supposed to back Augustin up. http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/34091/sources-bobcats-could-place-bid-on-billups

Putting a bid on Billups to simply block him from Free Agency does seem like a typical douche MJ move. Although I would not be too upset about it since he would likely end up on the Heat roster anyway.

Adding Billups could make Augustine available for a trade.

Asking Billups to start and babysit Kemba for 14mil is really not a hardship.

Dude wants to put a towel on his head and sulk thats his business.

I don't think the Knicks are too happy to pay him 14mil and perhaps have him lead a team to eliminate them in the playoffs.

Thats too much for any team to digest. LIke getting shot with your own gun.

I could see Gilbert being a prick and picking chauns up to prevent him in Miami also. I know he don't want Baron in Miami either.

Chauns could have asked to be bought out last year for 4 mil also.

10 mil is big money. Maybe he should be given the choice of not taking it and have his ultimate freedom.
