Add another 7-footer to the team.
The Post has learned 7-foot center Jerome Jordan, a 2010 second-round draft pick, will be the next addition to the Knicks' roster as he was involved in heavy contract negotiations late last night to bring him to New York, according to his agent Todd Ramasar.
Jordan spent the lockout playing in Slovenia but signed an opt-out clause for when the lockout ended. There was also a small buyout in the Slovenia deal. The Knicks were waiting on inviting Jordan to see if they had the room, pending which free agents they pursued.

Last season, Jordan played in the Serbian League for Hemofarm. The Knicks originally paid Milwaukee $1 million for his draft rights. After the Carmelo Anthony trade in February got rid of many of the team's taller players, Mike D'Antoni said he hoped Jordan would play for the Knicks next season.
Known as a good low-post scorer and potential shotblocker, the Knicks felt it was time to start grooming him and adding even more size to a roster that finished last season as among the smallest teams in the league.
Now the Knicks have no shortage of centers on their roster. They are about to add 7-1 Tyson Chandler from Dallas. Jared Jeffries was re-signed and they also have Josh Harrellson, their 2011 second-rounder from Kentucky, who probably is too raw to see action this season. Ronny Turiaf, who is only 6-8 but was their starting center last season, is being shipped to Washington for cap space as part of the events leading to Chandler’s acquisition.

Shawne Williams is the final piece. But I don't know if we can keep him. I sure as hell hope so.

Gotta admit. That is a nice looking lineup. The only question mark is the PG spot. Here is to hoping that Iman can ran the point this early in his career.

Turiaf being sent to Wiz for cap space? No picks involved? Hows that? Why keep Jeffries?!

Backup SF - seems to be a major question to me. We don't want a million miles of wear on Melo.

TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

Did we Already sign JJ3? Chandler news broke right after the sign Jeffries news. Of we didn't have him we could get decent backup SF.We so needed the Grant Hill type. They didn't even go after Vince :(

Fields and potentially Williams come to mind. As subs not to bad I think.

Jeffries will probably be there at backup SF, even if he logs minutes at C. Not thrilled with Jeffries back either, but looking at the bright side, he can really help us being able to play 4 or 5 positions.

Yes, especially as a backup/roleplayer, I really like him on the team. And no: I cannot see him at the offensive end without cringing... There shouldnt be the situation anymore, that we have him out there in the deciding seconds of a playoff game.

He plays all of the badly.

He plays them nicely on the defensive end. And sometimes, at C, he gets some putbacks that should be considered offensive action.

Hard for me to keep all the exceptions straight but I do hope the Knicks are able to add Anthony Parker. That rumor made little sense previously. Now I think he'd be an excellent addition.

Rule 173: There must always be at least one, but preferably more players with the initials "J.J." on the Knicks.

Yes he would be. If its him and not Bibby, great!

i think public opinion of jeffries will change when he isn't masquerading around as a Center. guy weighsl ike 180 pounds and we had him at 5 last year, it was ridiculous. i think he'll be the 3/4 backup and probably first or second guy off the bench.

hopefully they re-sign shawne williams. he's a good 3/4 backup as well.

Knicks suddenly have a ton of size up front.

Tyson Chandler - 7'1" 240lbs
Jerome Jordan - 7'0" 250lbs
Amar'e Stoudemire - 6'11" 260lbs
Jared Jeffries - 6'11" 240lbs
Jorts - 6'10" 275lbs

Just need a dynamic scorer in the backcourt who can create his own shot. I'd love to get Barea. I wonder if Barea would agree to the $2.5M for 3yrs? Seems a little low for him... but maybe?
