All three are in the top 40 in any sensible ranking and maybe higher given Chandler playoff breakout. Both Amare and Carmelo can create their own shots and with Chandler in the middle can relax a little on the D (not suggesting they do or will but no more free pass to the hoop.

I think so. I put this front court in the same level as the legendary Parish/McHale/Bird troika. If you compare part by part then the Celtic front line is hands down better but as a team and how they compliment each other I think that they are in the same level.

I am so excited and I just can't hide it.

this frontcourt is stacked make no mistake about it. Chandler is really just the type of player we needed. Him and stat will be a nice shot blocking duo and our rebounding situation changes dramatically as well. Jeffries also looks much better as a back up than starter.

Hmmm. I would have to say the Knicks Frontcourt has to be high up there. Because STAT and Melo by themselves give you
50/16 rebs, then you add Tyson and you're at 60/26. That's pretty impressive.

Talent wise? Very strong.

I thnink its a chemstry issue. Do the sum of the pieces greater together? If not, they will struggle. Talent is one thing, getting it to blend is the coaches job, and the players wanting to make it happen.

Melo and Stat are used to lots of touches.

Great front court...Could be the best in the league...Who is going to be our Danny Ainge and Dennis Johnson...Because of their style of play they can compliment each other...They just need playing time...This could be special...

That's why Chandler is PERFECT, cuz he doesn't care about touches. He doesn't need to have his number called all game. He will get plenty of putbacks and Alleyoops due to being left alone under the basket. STAT and Melo will draw so much attention. Then teams will have to worry about Iman and Fields in the backcourt too. This will be D'Antoni's biggest coaching job. If he can meld this talent this team can get to the ECF's.

The one thing that will make Chandler a bit more effective on the offensive end is a PG who can anticipate him going to the rim for a dunk. Doesn't have to be Nash, CP3 or Kidd quality PG, but someone who knows the player movement and can see it happening.

yeah, i think this is probably the best frontcourt collection of talent in the NBA right now. which is tremendously exciting. that's what wins chips.

how it all gels together is the big key. can melo and amar'e thrive on the floor together? previously, they've needed to get going separately and their play has suffered when on the floor at the same time.

i really do worry about the lack of guard experience we have. can i see toney leading this team in a game in Miami? Boston? Chicago? i have a hard time seeing it. i'd love to have a vet who wasn't intimidated. i would feel more comfortable with Baron Davis running the show. Heck, I might feel more comfortable with Anthony Carter running the show. just someone who can stay icy cool under pressure and get the ball in the right place at the right time. maybe toney is healthy and ready to do that. let's hope.

but, yeah, the only other frontcourt remotely close is Memphis with Gasol, ZBO and Gay. Lakers with Bynum, Gasol and Odom were close, but they seem intent on breaking it up. Boston with KG, Perkins, Pierce was excellent. Can't believe they broke that up. Maybe OKC with Perkins, Ibaka, Durant. Maybe Chicago with Noah, Boozer, Deng. But Knicks are certainly very very very strong. Only a handful you can even think of that are close.

even d'antoni said he couldn't think of a better frontline and he doesn't know what a center is supposed to do!

Lmao, Well finally we don't have to worry about being undersized , I still wanna see Jordan on the team so we have two 7 footers on this team. Knicks need a backup power foward as well to help Amare get some rest.

No layups!

best front in the league... likely the worst backcourt. obviously, it's harder to get bigs so I'm okay going this route. I am apprehensive though

The Knicks took Shumpert over Singleton so I think they must think he is special. If not maybe they move him and some salary to upgrade the backcourt. As you said, it is easier to get guards.
