ThAt`s a shame a very sad. He was such a good player and very fun to watch, and he made that Portland team good (which I think the NBA needs). I wish him well and hope he`s using his money wisely.

surprised, considering he showed in the playoff that he can still be effecting in limited minutes. Maybe he came back too early and made things even worse (Like Alan Houston did).
the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

if he retires, due to injury reason. I believe he is insured and get's paid majority of his contract? Does anyone know for sure?
However, I don't think it goes off Portland's salary cap unless he is amnestied.
I don't know exactly whether any team can still use the Amnesty this year, it's suppose to be used before the season starts.
However, with the CBA just finally returning, it's possible that they get a little more time.

If yesterday, really was the last day any player was could get amnestied, this could be a nasty way of Brandon Roy retaliating from those rumors.
However, no one got amnestied yet, besides Jefferson, so I highly doubt yesterday was the last day at 12pm.

This speaks volumes about the type of player Roy was and the man Roy is. A lot of guys would have been in denial and kept holding on, regardless of what ties they had to the community they played in. This must have been a painful decision and I wish Roy luck in the future. I hope Greg Oden isn't making similar announcement two years from now.

His deal goes off their books after a full year. So after this season his contract will be off their cap.

Teams can use the one-time amnesty clause at anytime during the duration of the CBA. Never heard of a deadline. It makes sense for teams to hold onto it, until everything (CBA finer details, how auctionsw ill work, etc.) become more clear.
