Look at it this way.... The lakers strength was their size Gasol and bynum 7ft, odom 6'11
They lose gasol both a scoring option and decent presence, odom scorer off the bench
Hopefully someone else takes howard, and the lakers wouldnt be that much of a threat

my hope is that this all blows up in Mike Brown's face (afterall, Phil Jackson replacements don't usually fare well), Kobe breaks down, and CP3 is forced to leave in free agency.

Gasol is on the decline and Odom is an old, overpaid, overrated player.

You are right. Pau and Odom being gone will make it real tough. But the way I see it, Dwight is not staying in Orlando. He wants to go to a warm weather town. Orlando wants a center in return for Dwight. LA just has to be creative. If LA starts the season with Kobe, CP3 and Bynum, its really not that much of an upgrade from last season.
