Is it possible that has to do with him leaving Dallas and being in Washington where the team was not as good?

I have a feeling if he was surrounded by strong talent (Melo/Stat) he might play differently but maybe I am wrong. What did he look like in Dallas the last year he was there?

I would consider him an upgrade over Fields but I admit I do not know a lot about his current situation.

LOL who do you think is willing to sign 1 year deals?

We need bodies otherwise Melo and Amare will get run into the ground. Hill and Howard can put the ball in the basket and are proven vets.

How is Grant Hill an Isiah type signing? Grant Hill is the consummate pro who plays defense and within the offense.

Josh Howard? That sounds more Isiah-esque than Hill.

i'm talking about his last few years in dallas, too. his play went downhill.

there's a reason dallas was happy to jettison him. his play had dropped off dramatically. then dallas trades him away and wins a chip. i don't know, i'd be cautious of signing that guy. and again, i used to love his game.

He was another black hole in Mavericks, very similar to Melo's style of play. He had the athleticism to defend but when he reached "star status" lost his will to defend and hustle.
Ever since he left Dallas, I think due to an injury, he has never shown back that athleticism or close to his skill. I don't think we should target him. The way things sound,
Amare will be playing Center a lot and will probably break down this year...

I'd love to get Hill. He plays d, handles the ball, passes and above all plays smart, unselfish bball.
