Would this be a good deal for both teams? If Knicks are willing to take Gilbert(amnesty) with Dwight resigned for CB, Turiaf, and Fields and one of our 2 stars.

Dwight and Gilbert's salary adds up to about $37.2m
We can easily match that with Melo or Amare, Billups, Turiaf, Balkman, Fields, and throw ins *keeping Shump and TD*

Areana's contract is 64million for 3 more years that's a lot of money! I don't see how a team under the cap, will offer more than 3-4 million to pick him up....
I believe the amnesty clause must be used before the season starts, I would call up Orlando RIGHT NOW!
Is this a realistic trade, giving the assumption Dolan is willing to open his wallet up for this...
If we do a trade for Cp3 and gut the team, I would rather do this...

Orlando can retrade Amare/Melo to a team. Like Melo to Net's, and do a 3 team trade or hold on to them and trade later.
We would take a HUGE hit at Dolan's expense.

And we would cap room to improve the team this year or look to sign one year deals and go for the kill in the summer!

Dwight
Amare
SF

Shumpert

6th man TD

Dwight

Melo

Shump

6th man TD

only with Amare without Shump,TD
only with Melo without Shump,TD
with Amare or Stat and whoever else they want.
only with Amare but without Fields
only with Melo but without Fields
this is horrible trade for Orlando
this is a horrible trade for Knicks

Bad deal for Orlando. I'm not even sure how many teams would give Amare a max length and salary contract right now as an FA let alone in a deal where they also have to give up Dwight.

Only STAT for DH and ONLY if we have 95% shot of adding CP3 after we amnesty Arenas. Shorty as starting PG? What were you thinking?
TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

Your talking about the MVP for the first half of last season in Amare

I think he can drive by with EASE and either force a double team or dunking it or laying it up.
He will have problems vs a good/great defensive team and even teams with great a good shot blocker.
He will be harrasing PG's on the other defensive side too.
If Jared Jeffries is playing with him though, that doesn't count if his man is cheating.
I can see Billup's and whoever is playing the 2-3, getting wide open looks.

this is a lot more about the $64 million that Areana's contract is owed.
Amnesty Clause doesn't just doesn't hold vs the cap, you still have to pay the contract...
This is the only way I can see us getting Dwight Howard and still have cap room left.

I wouldn't endorse your statement but Amare did have a great run. His value was much higher then than now.

He is a rookie, will probbaly go into a 35 game funk at a critical time of the season. Driving by people is great but we need someone who has excellent court vision and elite level passing skills. Maybe he has that, I don't know but I didn't glean that from his reviews.
