Yeah we all know that a C would be great for the Knicks but we can settle for a good PF who can rebound. The day of the dominant big man are long gone and the position in the league has no depth. Howard won't play for the Knicks and CP3 coming is just a formality at this point. CP3, STAT, MELO is a championship contender no matter what slugs come off the bench. A PF who can rebound and block a shot or two would be just as good as a slow giant with bad hands. We don't need scorers just need a hard nosed defender and if't not a C a PF would be just the ticket. Thoughts........

i know he's not huge, he's almost undersized, but a rugged defender: Kenyon Martin.

my understanding is that he'll come back from China in March and he'll be an unrestricted free agent.

I would sign him in a second.

Talk about a bad move! He is too old and creaky.

Are the Knicks really in any position to turn down someone like Kenyon Martin if he's willing to take a 1 year deal?

Our biggest need is a big, pref. a center who can rebound and defend and it looks like we'll have to scrape the very bottom of the barrel and take whatever scraps are left after every other team makes multi-year offers.

We might be lucky if Jerome Jordan pans out and we get someone like Nachbar. Ugly but don't see any other realistic potential FAs.

Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

Fesenko from utah is a FA. He doesnt put up much for numbers but has among the best defensive ratings in the league. Refer to espn hollinger profile. He is a low cost center who has some upside.

Great. If we can then sign Vinsanity and OvertheHill, we could then have 4 candidates for the amnesty clause...

I loved the impact Fesenko had in Utah's series upset over Denver 2 years ago when Okur was hurt.

That said -- there are lots of whispers about him being VERY immature (big time flake) -- I'm not sure what that all entails but odd that a big dude like that can't get any time.

I like Fesenko. BRIGGS mentioned him a couple of years ago and I have been paying attention to him. I hope Jorts can bring something similar to what Fesenko has done.

If we are getting a low cost center I want this guy.

A center would be great but a PF.........
