What is your opinion on this guy? He played alright if you ask me.. I d rather have him than Kwame Brown and Aaron Gray. He rebounds the ball well and is a great post defender. Im for sure he would resign here for cheap. He can help luring Anothny Parker to go here as they are in-laws.

Would you resign him?

Definitely should re-sign him if nobody better is available but he wouldn't play for Mike anyway.

it doesn't look like Amare and Melo are attracting any players to come this year. Looks like another year in which FA's use us as leverage to gain better contracts.
Even a serviceable center like Foster has a rumor of the FULL MLE for one year. I would not be interested in him for that money. I would think about bi annual exception and the exception paying him slightly more than the the veterans minimum, like 1.2m i think?

I am not interested in Shelden Williams however, I would sign him before JJ2. If we can't attract
any serviceable centers like

Aaron Gray
Foster

we should look at D league players and players that went that got cut from the NBA, looking to revive their careers.

Sean Willams
Josh Boone

Then if we can use the MLE for one year, look what talent we can get for 1 year deals or dividing it up to 2 players?

Shawne Williams
Grant Hill
Anthony Parker

I would like keep Shawne Williams because he knows the system already. Even though he showed interested in returning to New York, I don't see him signing a 1 year deal to return if another team is willing to offer him something more or longer.

Wilson Chandler, since he went to China and does Denver still have his bird rights to match the offer? I would think about throwing the full 1 year MLE money on him if we can't attract much talent, but if Denver can match, It's kind of hard to see them not doing so.

Sheldon Williams was solid as a backup we should resign him. I am gonna go on the record as saying we should give Kwame Brown Jarred Jeffries' money. Then we'll have Kwame, Sheldon, and Turiaf

This. Although I think the best year of his career was on this team.

The dude is undersized and is trash. I would take a flyer on SEAN WILLIAMS. Explosive around the rim, great shot blocker

I agree. Shelden put up some very good numbers in Denver when Anderson and Martin were out last year and he got minutes. However, unless the plan already is to make the move to Woodson, Sheldon would never get any minutes anyway.

He doesn't seem to have the right mind set though.

I like the Boone and Sean Williams suggestions. I think both guys would be great pick ups.

At what we can attract, we should and can afford to give, we should call their agents up ASAP and invite them to training camp....
In fact, screw that whole process, who am I kidding, I would just give them a 1 year deal right of the bat. Doesn't look like we are capable of getting anyone in that price range with that talent and size!

I thought he played ok for us but he has no upside. One of the worst athletes I've seen in the NBA.

It just depends on whether we can sign a better big for a reasonable price. I have no problem with signing Williams, but if we can sign Foster forget Williams.

I thought he was as least just as effective as Turiaf. Sure he wasn't swatting shots but he played decent man on man defense.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

Hmm. I just wrote and erased my post. Turiaf is a pretty decent player, but it's clear through his career history that he's a major injury risk. Not sure if his legs are too thin for his beefy torso or if he plays beyond his physical limits.
When he's on the court, he makes nice contributions. The nice court vision, the extra pass, the motor on defense, the shot blocking. I don't think his body is built for f/t at the center position (same issue we have with Amare).

Shelden Williams (with all of his knee/ankle braces and pads) is armored and ready to go. From what I've seen he plays big man defense, seems durable (tho this has never been tested), and puts himself in a position to score if his man gets lazy. Solid big man for eating up minutes. Can defend centers, but isn't a shot blocker.

I like the idea of giving Sean Williams a trial run - can lighting strike twice with 2 guys with the same name (Shawne Williams) - and could we have a 3rd S. Williams on the roster? There must be some obvious flags in the NBA circle on this guy. His numbers in the NBDL were excellent, and he stepped up in 2 DLeague playoff games. Certainly there must be some market for an world-class athletic big man with a nose for blocking shots?
