Are the Nets really serious??...That's almost as bad as Layden was trying to get Chris Bosh for Kurt Thomas straight up...

Not really considering they are willing to take Turkeyglue too.

So Orlando waives Arenas, dumps Turkeyglue, and gets a jump start on rebuilding. They have zero bad contracts, picks, and a young center.

Can't speak to the quality of the picks, but what else can Orlando get that is better?

Pau, Odom and picks? Again, not all picks created equal. Odom without that Kardashian taint might get cranky. Bynum is a rickety man.

Pau is good value but I don't see that.

Dwight next to Pau and Kobe is scarey.

Dwight is a child. He wants LA so he can use his Disney Pass.

yeah, this isn't happening.

i think if Dwight goes anywhere, it'll be to LA Lakers for Bynum AND Gasol. maybe the Clippers offer Jordan, Gordon, Aminu and multiple picks. but i think Dwight is a lock for LA either way.

Brock Lopez isn't worth it for Orlando. Lopez right now is a role player.

New Jersey already traded away a lot of their picks for Deron, so it's not like they have a ton left.

http://basketball.realgm.com/nba/draft/future_drafts/detailed

2012 first round draft pick from Houston
Houston's own 2012 1st round pick to New Jersey (top 14 protected in 2012, top 14 protected in 2013,, top 14 protected in 2014, top 14 protected in 2015 and top 14 protected in the 2016 Draft). If New Jersey does not receive a 1st round pick from Houston by the 2016 Draft, then Houston will convey their own 2017 2nd round pick and cash to New Jersey. [Houston - Los Angeles Lakers - New Jersey, 12/15/2010]

2012 second round draft pick from Miami
Miami's own 2012 2nd round pick to New Jersey [Miami - New Jersey, 1/05/2010]

Very depressing site BTW regarding the knicks.

Nets still have their picks. If they wait it should still be pretty good one.

I think this is a very good deal for Orlando if they are moving Howard. I also think the Nets are smart to explore this one and move on if it doesn't happen. Once they sign a free agent I think it is impossible for them to do this deal so it is a bit of a take it or leave it deal.

How can you say Brook Lopez is a role player? Lopez is the second best scoring big man in the league, 20.4 points per game last season. He's perhaps the most durable playing in all 82 games and averaging over 30 minutes in his career. There is no way LA trades Bynum AND Gasol. I heard NJ is willing to sign Nene or Tyson Chandler to use as trade bait. Imagine an offer of Nene, Brook Lopez, Anthony Morrow and draft picks?

Isn't there a period of time before free agents can be traded? I don't think a free agent signing could be included in a trade in the old CBA until sometime in December. I would think that time would be bumped out in a shortened season.

I don't know much about the new CBA rules. If NJ signs Nene or Tyson Chandler they'll probably be trading them at the deadline.

Can you name one other thing he does well, other than score? He can't defend, can't rebound, and can't pass out of a double team. If he packed on an extra hundred pounds he'd be Eddy Curry. That's why he's a role player.

Well he has scoring down Orlando is losing Dwight Howard the center piece of the offense, their main scorer. Lopez is only 23 he's 7 feet, the rebounding is something that can get worked out. Like I said if they sign Tyson Chandler or Nene and then trade them during the season like ESPN reported Lopez can be moved to the 4 probably a more suitable position for him and Chandler or Nene can play the 5. Bynum isn't much better he can't stay healthy, he's limited offensively, he's way overpaid, and he isn't the beast rebounder people make him out to be.

I don't think Lopez is as bad a rebounder as people think. He's obviously not a good rebounder for a C, but part of the reason his rebounding was down last year was because Humphries was a monster on the boards and took some away from him. If he was partnered with a typical PF, he'd get 8-9 boards a night.

8-9 boards a game is horrible for a C his size, typical PF or not.

BroPez ups his Rebs to 11 avg and one more block he is the second best center in the league on paper.

Im not here to prop him up but his team has been awful which inflates his ppg. avg.

Dude is a top quintile center with still some upside. Durable big that can score.
