If ANY good has come out of this training camp, it's that Amar'e has gotton his rest.

Yea and there will be a shorter season. Even with more games packed together it's still less wear on him than a full 82. It will be interesting to see how this effects him. MAN it's good to be talking BB stuff.

He had to cancel it because Melo and Billups didn't want to come.

According to multiple sources, after Stoudemire reached out to his teammates, two of the most important players -- Carmelo Anthony and Billups -- were not in favor of the idea and instead wanted to hold workouts in New York so players could get settled in for the suddenly impending NBA season.

This is disappointing, but not the end of the world. CB I expected would be most resistant, but Melo surprises me. I see no real reason why he couldn't fly down and make it happen. The thing that's crazy is that CB and Melo don't even have a place to hold the practices yet. At least STAT has a facility and everything worked out. Just disappointing

In all fairness all of our players don't live in nyc in the off season. Guys need to move back to nyc and get settled.

agreed.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

Don't they now have at least access to the Knick practice facility? Maybe a Y somewhere?

Anything but continuing to hang around anywhere near the Isaiah Cancer Center

I do know, and that is bull****. I flew 16.5 hours in coach, dropped my **** off at the hotel, and put a nine hour day in on my first day of work on this job. These guys have people on payroll to sort their lives out. All they have to do is fly to Florida, train, **** the concierge at some five star hotel, call their people to make sure they got WiFi hooked up, fly 2.5 hours to NY, **** the flight attendant, go to bed, then go to the training facility. That's it.

These are men that travel ALL THE TIME! I just think it was a bit selfish for them to beg off from doing what they said they'd do earlier in the year. It's not the end of the world, but they better be ready to go this year.

These men also have families. They are not single men like Amare. They have wives and children. Sure they can pay for everything, but unhappy wife = unhappy life. I do hope that guys like Melo and CHauncey didn't let themselves go in the offseason.

Given the lockout, they've already been home more than normal. I would think many would want to get out already.

But, maybe not.
