If I'm an NBA player right now, locked out and out of work, I'm adding skills to my game. I'm using the extra time to improve technical skills like free-throw shooting or to acquire a lethal trey proficiency.

They had their summers for rest, and now, because they are free from the grind of the regular season, the players can study hard and add a new dimension to their game.

What a boon for the league this would be if even a small percentage of NBA players wisely took this time to expand their baller sets.

If there is a 2011-2012 season, no one should shoot below 80% from the line.

If I'm a locked out player, I'm coming back with an empty pocket and huge debt...

Hopefully players are working on their games and also non basketball business opportunities. That check from the league shouldn't be the only thing they have to generate income. Finding good ways to invest and grow their money should start day one!

My worst fear (aside from there being no season!) is that we'll get a lot of over weight, out of shape players and some really sloppy basketball once (or if) the lockout ends. I remember the last one essentially ended Shawn Kemps career (a shame as he was one of my favourite players back then). I seem to remember last time a lot of free agents didn't really work out much for fear of injuring themselves.

On top of that they'll be next to no pre-season and a shortened training camp so teams won't be used to each other. And then to make matters worse the games will all be crammed in, with back to back to backs, so fatigue will also come into play.

It's not going to be pretty!

I am worried also about guys coming in out of shape and overweight. I am not as worried about training camp for the Knicks. For whatever reason they have come out of training camp the past couple of years and needed about 15 games before a rotation is settled on and they start to win with any consistency.

Every game that the Knicks come in under .500, will be another nail in the D'antoni coaching coffin. As is, he's working with lame duck status. Just can't see him surviving another slow start.

A slow start wouldn't be good but I don't see a quick hook for MDA after the lockout. I think this team is gonna be a top team in the East. STAT, Melo n CB will be healthy and fresh to start the year and I think they'll be too much for the lower echelon teams in the league. IMO this team is a 50+ win team in a full season.

This team ended up 42-40 and I just don't see this team hovering around .500 with this group together from the start of the season.

I'm not as worried about guys coming in out of shape this time... last time most of the stars were in the twilight of their careers. This time, they're either in their prime or about to hit their prime

I don't think it will be as bad as it was
