![]() I also think melo still has a lot to prove and agree about his conditioning or lack there of. That said, it could be enough to win the championship with his current level of play. He is still one of the league's best.
That light show was a bit "epic". lol. Had enough Melo?

![]() That was a freakin awesome display of light technology. This is just business for the Jordan Brand and Melo's sneaker, what else would we expect when you bring in an NBA superstar. Melo doesn't get the respect of a top NBA player, but as Much as people drool over Durant, Melo produces at the same level, but isn't looked at in the same way. All I want to see from Melo is him doing what is necessary to get this team to the Elite level in the NBA. I think he's got that kind of talent and I think he's been invigorated by the move here. He's a star athlete and little out of touch, but I would kind of expect that. Many of these players are like that. He's been having things his way since he picked up a ball and got noticed. It has a way of warping a young man's judgment.
As for him working out, the guy does workout and I don't believe that's going to be an issue. He's taken care of his body this summer from what i've heard. I like some of what I saw from him last year in the playoffs. He stepped up defensively and looked to lead on offensive when the team needed it. With more time together this team should benefit greatly from having Melo every night. The toughest part is learning how to win. It's one of those very difficult things. We watched Dirk show just what that means, but not everyone gets it. |

![]() All pro?
1st team? 2nd? 3rd? Nope. Dude is a Kardashian, lots of hype but not the substance. His is a very good player no doubt, but the hype is bigger than the reality. Coming to NYC his "Celebrity" grew. If they ever get back to the court, perhaps he can full the very large shoes he hypes! |

![]() Nalod wrote:All pro? It still feels like a punch in he gut. Completely gut the team for a guy who has strengths that the team already has, although his rebounding is great. Yet his defense sucks unless he is so 100% motivated to play defense, like against LeBron, some times. I'm not impressed with the guy, but his game is his game and you have to accept it because it ain't changing. The guy to be pissed at is Dolan.... and I am telling you, people are going to start getting pissed... but at the wrong people. Melo isn't leading us to the promised land. “Whenever I’m about to do something, I think ‘Would an idiot do that?’ and if they would, I do NOT do that thing.”- Dwight Schrute

![]() If he plays with the strong efficiency (especially 42% from 3 pt range) on offense that he did in the 30 games of the year as a Knick last year, then he's a strong star. If he plays like he did for most of his career, he's just hyype and we probably won't have more success than the Nuggets had. Usually the larger sample of games is more predictive and I'd have to bet on him returning to how he played in Denver although I'm desperately hoping for the efficient Melo we saw in NY. It's likely our only hope of being more than a 2nd round playoff team.

![]() I miss Gallo and Moz. It was a foolish trade. I understand Melo's perspective (i.e., lockout) and he probably made the best move for himself. If we win a chip during his time here, I will accept that it was a solid move. But I would rather we had kept our team and waited for next season to make a big move. Besides, we could have had Deron for a much lower price, and he would have been a better upgrade for our team. Then we could make a serious push for Howard.
Let's hope Melo comes back next year in solid shape and ready to win. (Note: I assume this year is a bust, since the owners and players are not agreeable with each other). |

![]() Enough with the I miss Moz and Gallo talk. Melo is a much better player than those anyone we had. The team is better with him than without him. We still have money to pursue another free agent next season. People kill me with this non-sense. Oh we had such "talent".... Please. Much easier to find another Moz, Gallo, wilson, Felton, etc...
than it is to find a Melo, Amare or any other top star. We have a group that if all goes well will be able to compete for title the next 4-5 years. That's all you can really ask for as a fan...I am excited to watch this team and can't wait for this BS lockout to end... M

![]() Melo is a true superstar, but just cuz he's not the absolute best player in the NBA some can't be satisfied with him. To be sure, there aren't a lot of guys in the NBA that are better than Melo!!! One thing about Melo that I love is that he's never scared! Think about the BALLZ this guy has. He'll go toe to toe with any top player! You think he's gonna shrink in a battle with Lebron or Kobe? This is one of the rare guys that we KNOW will show up in a series against the very players we need to beat.
People love Durant and Lebron and Melo has beaten both those guys more than they've beaten him. Let's just relax on the Melo bashing and give this a chance 1st. |

This is one of the rare guys that we KNOW will show up in a series against the very players we need to beat. He is 28, he carried his team to the NCAA tournament and it was fun to watch. I'd say stat wise he has done very well in the NBA. After that he has not shown to be a leader. Superstars are leaders on their teams. He can say what he wants, but he has yet to be that guy. He is not a failure, just not one of the best in the game although he is paid as one and hyped as one. WE KNOW what we know. YOu seem to know things others don't. Good for you! |

![]() Perhaps lamenting on Gallo-Felton-Wilson-Moz is not what it was, but what they could have been. Sure we would have needed tweeks, and perhaps a trade for Deron would have been better.
Is Melo more than a high scoring "Celebrity" with a cool marketing name? We'll find out one day perhaps! What we "KNOW" is he is marketable and fans buy into the hype. Nix certainly is freebasing the kook aid! |

Sure we would have needed tweeks, and perhaps a trade for Deron would have been better. Exactly, it's about what they seemed to be growing into. I agree Melo is better. But the problem is that we gave up our depth to get him. I'm on board with getting Melo, now that it's after the fact. But that doesn't diminish a perspective on what we had and what could have been. I think it would have been smarter to make a play for Deron. But it's all water under the bridge now. Let's get us a new PG and see how this ship sails. |

And when did they go past 30 wins???? When they got a star in Amare and a good PG in Felton, but with all the role player that have been name the team was under 30 wins! In the Knick of time.
