The good thing is he's practicing shots off the dribble or in motion. Not just stand-still shots. That's important.

I wouldn't mind bringing the guy back but I wouldn't lose any sleep over him being gone either.

  • does anyoune know where I can get that adidas shirt?
  • he's got a low hitch on his J, but--
  • --I am very impressed with his workouts and drilling
  • as much as I loathe the idea of system players in the NBA, he's a talent and a perfect fit with
  • I really hope he works out because he probably could give us 70-80 percent of The Mayor's output, much like Shawne Williams was fairly close to Gallo's output

It would be great if he came back but I think he wanted out last year and was disappointed about being traded to the Knicks.

I think that was just a playing time thing. He was young and probably had the idea that he'd get to play a bigger role. He may now realize how nothing is the same when you leave a team that isn't really going anywhere and come to a team that has a bit more talent. You have to fight for your spot and his skills weren't up to the level of guys ahead of him. Now he seems to have been addressing that issue and may be more useful in this system. I'm impressed that he took things seriously and got proper help to round out his game. Derrick's Qualifying offer is only $1 mil. I think they'll bring him back at such a reasonable cost.

Under Contract right now:

Melo
STAT
Billups
Fields
Douglas
Turiaf
Rautins
Walker
Balkman
Brown (Qualifying Offer $1,059,293)
That's $60,612,189 so far for only 10 players.

Then we have to resign Shawne Williams. Sign Iman, Jorts and probably Jordan. Then we'll probably use the last spot for a FA C.

He seems like a bright kid who does impressive workouts. It doesn't mean it translates to the NBA court, but I hope it works out for him. I guess it's a little thing, but I was impressed when he said he doesn't need to workout in Vegas. I guess I'm just used to everyone loving the limelight.
