Anyone tell these guys how to dress for contract negotiations?

That Baron Davis looking Like Woody Allen?

Look at Ray Allen!, thats how you do it.

If how you dress makes a statement, what is Melo saying?

Dwayne on his way to a club?

Players are not in charge here and Im not saying they should suck it up and look nice, but if your doing battle know the game and understand that looking like your on your way to home depot is not to be taken seriously. Maybe Im not on board with the fashion, but if you know your going to photographed and an image is to be made, I would think it might be more effective to portray an image the widest group can associate with. Ray Allen looks like he is a serious man to me. Lebron looks like he is on board but wants to make an individualistic statement with the skinny tie and casual shirt. Roger Mason Jr. as a league rep looks like he is black on black shirt and tie, but it should be more conventional. Fisher looks good, like a leader. Baron and Melo look like they stopped by as an afterthought.

Martin please ban Nalod for trying to hijack my thread about Melo's gut.

Baron Davis does look like a fool. He looks like he is "Straight Outta Compton".

Didn't Melo just say he was 6 lbs lighter than last season? He never struck me as one of those gym guys like STAT. Hopefully he can shed a few more pounds before the season starts. Not every player is a naturally skinny guy. He's got huge legs and hips, which is his source of power. He has more of a lineman body type than many BB players with that slender body type and small hips. Melo can carry a little more weight naturally and not have it effect his game.

Everyone said what great shape Melo looked to be in during that Philly game last weekend, including Hahn. Although that picture of him isn't very flattering.

But remember, this is a guy who did that crazy month long religious diet where he bascally became Vegan last season. I think he works pretty hard at staying in game shape. We'll see.

He is wearing plaid and that is a wide angle lens. Not flattering.

I agree with Nalod's Men's Vogue UK assessment. Once again, Jesus' form is flawless and the other guys could take an example from him here.

Baron Davis looks Straight Outta Compton? Ha! More like Straight Outta Williamsburg or the skatepark or the mall.

It's not a flattering photo- from what we've seen of him this offseason, he's probably the same weight as last season- nothing to worry about. I know there was a Hahn article where he said he was down to 230lb, which is a few pounds less than last season.

He has always looked chunky. You might as well accept him for who he is b/c he's going nowhere.

Anubis, you of all people shouldn't complain about this. You knew Melo was always like this. You were the leader of the Get Melo at all costs campaign. He's here, and he's the same dude as he was when you were dying to get him. You think he's gonna change just because he's on the Knicks with a new contract? I don't think so.

The photo was taken from below which always makes someone look a little chunkier because the gut is closer to the camera that the upper body. But seriously, on the side topic how can you goto a major deal discussion dressed so casually. Either they think they are above negotiating professionally because they get what they want always or they are really that clueless.

i have been saying this all along. That's the Eddy Curry in some players and Melo has some of that in him. Look back in his first 2-3 years at Denver. He bulked up and then never stopped getting plumpier every year after that. Thats where I question his mentality, commitment, and work ethic of his game. He relies mainly on his physical abilities and confidence. Not the workholic I think, a max player should always be looking to do, constantly improving. Both mentally and physically......

There is a different picture of him in that same shirt in Hahn's article. He looks pretty chunky in that photo as well. I agree with Nix that Melo has a big lower body but he certainly looks chunky.

Im not complaining. I was just making an observation. The guy has quick feet and he can handle the added weight. Dude had a wedding last summer and started the season chunky. However he is still able to light up 95% of the league.

Hahn had mentioned he looked slimmed down and I think he looks the same to me.

Paul Pierce Melo is a fat piece of chit. A SF built like that won't ever win an NBA title

Look at Melo he looks like he is broke or something same with Barron Davis. That is some bad dressing going on there.

FOr all the talk we always hear about how great shape players are in and how hard they've been training in the off season it's ahrd to decipher when that's actually true. If he can produce like in the past I don't care if he weighs as much as Eddy Curry.

It's also about natural body types. Some guys are naturally slender and some guys will never be that small, even if they workout and diet they just naturally carry more mass. I'm more concerned with conditioning and stamina to finish strong, which Melo has displayed.

I guess Melo's not working out with that lawyer/fashion-magnate-turned-trainer guy any more...

Is anyone positively sure that IS Baron Davis? He looks like Spike Lee impersonating Landry Fields in one of the later Andy & Landry episodes...
