If it was Spree, he would've complained about how is he supposed to feed his kids on only one million.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Don't waste time knocking the last player to ever drag this fhuhuhcked up franchise to the Finals.

Sheehit, and I thought this was going to be a thread about how he signed a contract in Turkey.

You sure? I heard Turkish government was maybe going to feed his kids AND let him park his yacht wherever he wants.

Old news, but just thought it was worth mentioning that Spree made #1 on a list besides worst NBA teammate...(or was that Marbles?)

Former-NBA player Latrell Sprewell has secured the number one spot on a list of Wisconsin's top 100 delinquent taxpayers. Sprewell's NBA career famously ended in 2005 after he scoffed at a three-year, $21 million contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves, publicly stating that the money offered would not be enough to feed his family. Now, the Wisconsin native owes more than $3.5 million in state back taxes.

Alright, I'll go back to not thinking now...

Sheet, Spree ain't got no yacht no more. That sheet was confiscated when he cain't pay no more bills.

Yeah, no love for a real true Knick who bled red and orange.

People always talk about Houston's lucky ass shot in Miami but, do they ever mention what a dismal game he had. How IF Spree hadn't stolen the ball during what should have been the last possession (with the ball in Miami's hands). He stole the ball and got the time out. Without that steal no lucky shot by Alan.

Spree showed up that game unlike the KNICKS'S poster boy Alan Houston (who couldn't hold Spree jock strap). He filled the box score with like 20pts, couple of steels and a couple of rebounds.

I think Houston barely cracked double digits that game.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

Houston had to be the poster boy. 100 million balloons will do that for you.

Spree also had possibly one of the best Finals games any Knick ever had. You rarely ever read about that.

When you lose 4-1 and barely made the playoffs as the 8th seed you remember the improbable run but not particular games.

Encapsulated memories? Knick fans remember Spree did have a good series. "The shot" was epic. Hardly a thing of beauty but it was clutch.

Clyde has 37 pts and 19 assists in game 7 final in 1970. Willis got hurt in game 5. Did not play game 6 Played a few minutes in game 7. had 4 pts. Everyone has seen it. Clyde didn't get the MVP. Willis did.

Regarding spree, he created great wealth for himself, and created an image. He was an enigma.

My point? I forgot.

Your point? You obviously had none.

When you blow through the playoffs as only the second 8th seed in the history of the league to make it to the Finals, some people remember things like that.
When you score 35 points and grab 10 rebounds and practically go play for play with Finals MVP in Game 5, some people manage to remember that as well.
Spree took a woefully overmatched group of underachievers on his back and carried them almost singlehandedly to a game 6 in SA. One missed short jumper...

My point? Oh yeah: Sometimes players don't get their due. Clyde did succed and bought the championship home! Willis got the lifetime glory. The legend of Clyde was not embossed like it wsa for Willis because Willis had "THE MOMENT". Allan's "THE SHOT" ws the last bit of glory the team was able to accompolish.

Spree played his ass off in a series that we lost 4-1, thus no glory attained.

Not saying its right, just saying........

He played his ass off that game and I do remember it. 1999 had Both Duncan and Robinson both playing. We were undersized with Bambi at Center and LJ at the power forward. Ewing I believe was playing but his wrist was still hurt.

JVG did a hell of a job keeping that group playing some tough defense.

JVG did sheehit. Anything he did with his defensive schemas boiled down to throwing bodies/fouls at Duncan. I can never forgive that mutant dwarf for starting Dudley. He might as well have played with four for all the good that did.
And Ewing didn't play in the Finals at all, "mr. I've been following the Knicks for 40 years"; he got hurt in the playoffs and spent the Finals in a suit.
JVG also stuck with Charlie Football even though he was getting his Hiesmann azz outplayed by that HOF candidate Avery Johnson.

Im going off memory 12 years ago.

JVG got them to the finals. Or was Spree also coaching them?

Knicks were so outmatched that series it was a blessing it was not a sweep.

I suppose my memory of ewing was wrong. Seems like your still pretty intense about the series.

The subject of Spree can be emotional for some.

Ward got out played often. He was the point guard that got them to the finals. YOu go with what got you there.

The little mutant was the last coach to take us anywhere. That run got him an automatic extension otherwise he was toast.

Him and Grunfeld were not on the same page.

We all have our favorites and favorite moments!

To me 1999 was fun but 1994 for me ripped my heart out.

I doubt Charlie got them to the finals. He was better than Rick Brunson and a damaged Chris Childs. That's it.

The little mutant was responsible for '99? Seriously? How? Did he get more out of Ewing than previous coaches? Was it his brilliance that got all that production out of Chris Dudley? Does LJ hit those freak 3's because of the little mutant's offensive play calling prowess?

Agreed on '94. There we were supposed to at least have a brawler's chance and we had an established HOF coach instead of some underdog little puke.

Yeah, some people like JVG and some people don't.

As long as we both hate Charles Smith, everything's cool

Look, to me the coach is the coach and it was under his watch they went to the finals. He played who he played.

"The SHOT"and "LJ" was the kind of luck you need to advance and they did. A team that makes a run like that believes in their coach for all the other times a miricle was not required.

I don't hate Charles smith. I think the knicks shot a putrid FT % in that game and it should never have come to Charles Smith missing a put back! So why hate on him?

DOn't get me wrong on Charlie Ward, I never really liked him either.

In the end it was Charlie the point and the little mutant was the coach. They went to the finals, in part by miricle, in part with Defense even despite that Camby was just starting to be Camby, and JVG was smart to let SPree of the leash and go crazy!

Congrats to Sprewell....
