I do not like giving up KVH whose numbers, on th whole, look good but I will not miss seeing his opponent flying by him, being picked up by Deke only to have the opponent dish off for an easy 2.

I also don't like giving up Doleac who was developing more toughness and was the rare commodity-center size with a shooter touch.

That being said we are picking up quickness and potentially better defenders whose contributions may only up in W-L numbers.

Finallly, I hope that the rumors of Doleac being dropped by Atl. have some validity and that the Knx can resign him

It says that sources claim that the Hawks will waive Doleac, and if he do, we will make an attempt to sign him.

Yea I think Doleac would definitely consider resigning with us, if you look in the article they say the other teams that would make a shot at him are the Nuggets, Jazz and Clippers. I personally think that he would rather sign with us than any of those teams because the Clippers and Jazz are not going to contend for the title this year. As for the Nuggets, would he really want to move to Denver or would he be happier staying here in NY? I think it would be easier for him to resign with us. But knowing Zeke, he would probably trade Doleac again before the deadline :) (jk)

I guess the question is will Doleac clear waivers and not be picked up by another team before the Knicks get a shot at him? If Atlanta is thinking of waiving him they must be desprate to rid salary....he only makes ~$1M this year!

Can't they trade Doleac for a 2nd round pick? Minnesota could always use quality big men...

I don't think Atlanta wants to take back any salaries that go past this year.

It's pretty clear this trade wasn't about stats because statisticly speaking this deal was nearly a washout. Resigning Doleac would give the Knicks the chance to send Mutombo to a contender for something good as well.

Who would you trade Deke to Dallas for?
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

Doleac can return here after waivers the same way Herb Williams did years ago when he was traded to the Raptors. They waived him after one game and he came right back to the Knicks (and has been here ever since, for the most part).
