Canada needed a win over Panama and a Venezuela loss to Uruguay on the tournament's final day to secure a top five finish and a spot in next summer's Olympic play-in event. Not only did Canada lose to Panama, but Venezuela handled Uruguay 92-80. Andy Rautins, the former Syracuse University standout, scored 14 points for Canada. He also had three assists and four steals. Canada's lineup had been decimated with injuries. Joel Anthony, of the Miami Heat, and Aaron Doornekamp both missed the Panama game due to injuries.
