Canada 73, Dominican Republic 72 (Boxscore)

This was a huge win for Canada (and the first real upset of the tournament), but there’s no denying that the Dominican Republic has been a huge disappointment over the last two days.

Canada won this game from beyond the arc, where they shot 10-for-23. All of Andy Rautins‘ 15 points came from 3-point range, where he shot 5-for-8. Two of the five came in the fourth quarter, as Canada built a 12-point lead.

Papabear Says

He will have to do a whole lot better than shooting 3s to stay with the Knicks. Defense Defense, and getting to the basket, looking for your teamates to pass the ball.

Andy Rautins is not on the court to play D!

If he is in the game and hits his treys they gonna have to respect him, and spread it out for MeloStat.

Little D can't hurt.

I've seen some of his action in this tournament and he has looked pretty active on D and looking mainly to dish the ball. Of course he has the long range and in that game he displayed it, but he has looked pretty solid all-around. Definitely should be considered for backup duties or spot up shooting.

wondering if you saw this game.... boxscore stats indicated another side that hasn't been brought out: 4 fouls and 4 TOs in 20 minutes of play.

Yeah, but I've come to expect that in this international tournaments because sometimes teams play such scrappy, full-court defense most of the time, they tend to play a little out of control. In Rautins' case, I've seen him try to make many risky passes that have become TOs.

ok nice. is this a bad risky or good risky?

Has his PG play been OK given the circumstance?
