I went offroading for about 7 or 8 hours from Doha, Qatar to the sea near the South West Saudi border. Considering I'll babble about the Middle East sometimes, figured I'd share this. The wife of one of the guys I was with put this together

Seems like you guys had a great time man! I love the camel crossing sign. I wish I could be doing stuff like that. Post more pics of stuff like that if you have them.

What are you doing in Doha btw? Contracting with Al Jazeera?

I will when I get out and about... friggin 120+ and humid as hell at the moment. I want to tour the Arabian Peninsula

I'm contracting with the State of Qatar, managing infrastructure procurement activities. Basically, we're putting the stuff that needs to be in place into place so Qatar can start building/developing for the 2022 World Cup

Oh man, that's great!! Is it true that they are going to build air-conditioned soccer stadiums? How long have you been there and are going to be there for? What are the people there like? Is Doha going to explode like Dubai?

they'll have to have AC... wouldn't have won the bid without it. They're being constructed so they can be disassembled and shipped out to other sites worldwide after the WC, which to me is the coolest part about the stadiums.

been here since end of March... my agreement is for one year. It's a question of how many years I can do. Job finishes in 2015.

haven't met many Qataris. The expats outnumber the nationals by a crazy amount. They're an extremely rich people so outsiders come and do the work. I basically live in the heart of Little India. Didn't know that before I moved in... glad it happened though. I eat parathas, biriyanis, tikka masalas, Kerala specialties, etc. all the time now. Never really ate Indian before
