Meanwhile, France centre Ronny Turiaf is set to miss EuroBasket with a broken hand after undergoing scans in London on Wednesday. The New York Knicks player picked up the injury during Monday’s win over Britain and FFB officials have confirmed to MVP that Turiaf will consider withdrawing from the squad if further tests in Paris show lasting damage.

“The hypothetical withdrawal of Ronny Turiaf, a player who is as important on the court as he is off it, could be a real blow to France,” France head coach Vincent Collet said. ”I can only imagine how disappointed and frustrated Ronny would be to miss the EuroBasket.

“If he has to withdraw, we will see how to fill the void. For the time being I do not want to bring myself to think he is not a part of the team.”

He should be OK before NBA season starts.

Yea Ronny is Mr. Glass! "Unbreakable" was a very underrated movie. Ronny is a great guy, but just not the man we need in the middle. He's a brittle athlete. Some guys just aren't durable.

This is why I don't understand why anyone lists this guy as part of any starting lineup.

It's almost like planning around Greg Oden.

Not quite as bad as Oden, but he's far from reliable. We need a real starter at the 5, with Jorts off the bench.

When you consider that he also has had open heart surgery, his run of bad luck with his health has been pretty bad.

He is gone after this season anyways. I'm hoping we either sign Aaron Gray or Kwame Brown this summer, as both are upgrades in most areas. Jerome Jordan and Jorts can become solid centers to round out the roster, with Jordan having the potential to become a very solid rotation center in the near future.
