I hope we have a good second choice for defensive coach. It seems that Detroit is leaning towards offering Frank the head coaching job.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Meh we didn't need him anyway! All of this is so overplayed. The Heat are good defensively cuz they have great defensive talent. I can't ever remember a faster defense in my life. There have been tough defenses before, but they have some otherworldly physical quickness. 95% of that is just natural talent. This team needs more defensively talented players. You can't expect great D from a guy who can't move anymore or small guys trying to play center. Like i've said you put D. Howard on this team and a young Bruce Bowen and all of a sudden this team has a chance to be good defensively. Even more so if we can get STAT and Melo to fully commit.

I like the idea of Iman being out there to boost our perimeter D. I look forward to seeing him with TD and Fields as a really solid perimeter defense. TD, Iman and Fields should be a very effective trio on our 2nd unit. If we can back them up with a solid C. That trio would be the quickest backcourt we've had in years. You could apply pressure with that unit and let them use their great energy. Add in guys like Balkman, Brown and Shawne Williams and I think we've got some guys who can defend. Heck even Walker showed me a little something in the last few games of the season and the playoffs. He seemed motivated to make the rotation. The main point is we need to solve the hole at C. Maybe a guy like Kwame or Pryz. Heck even Jason Collins. Guys with the size and strength to hold the position.

I get your point nix, but with the way our roster is put together right now we need every help possible defensively. And a good defensive coordinater goes a long way. Dallas is a good example of how team defense can make up for poor individual defenders, i.e. their defense when JJ Barea and Dirk was on the floor.

I honestly think Frank is a better head coach than D'Antoni. For him to sign a one year deal where the coach in the past has been very reluctant to take on an assistant to emphasize defense doesn't make sense for him. Detroit is getting a good coach in my opinion.
