There are only about 8 profitable teams this past year in the NBA…The current state of the NBA are mostly due to bad moves by ownership and management...
Guys like Marbury should never make 20 mil per...Zach Randolph making 17 mil per many moons ago is just insane...Dlee is slated to make 15 mil
per in 2015...I can go on but you guys know the story as well as I do..

I have a small solution, I’m not privy to NBA teams financial situation but I think we can come up with small concessions to help the owners
get out of the mess they created...I think the players have to give a little more here to help the league be profitable and viable for years to
come..Just understand all teams still won’t be profitable because they are playing in cities that just aren’t good for NBA basketball..Also,
there are too many teams..The league is watered down a bit...We can use contraction of two to three teams to improve quality of play..

But with all that said, here are a few things I think can help the league get on it’s feet..Please fell free to add your opinions of what you
think might be good for the league going forward or just what you think is wrong in my thinking..

All contracts should be three year contracts..This allows a team to get out of bad signings or lazy players who turn it on only in their contract
year..Players would have to stay on their games because another contract year will be upon before they know it..

Max contracts should be limited to 15 mil per a year..If you sign a free agent, the max you can pay him is 15 mil per for three years...Which brings
me to a “franchise tag” per se...

Franchising a player is a two way street..The player has to agree to be franchised..You can pay a "franchised player" what ever you want..Only the
first 20 mil per works against your salary cap due to a hard cap in place..This works for teams like the Lakers who wants to keep Kobe and who is
obviously benefiting from this player filling your seats on a nightly basis..Stars moving from team to team can only be franchised after playing for
three years for the same team...Miami would not be able to franchise Bron until the first three year contract is up..

Only one player can be franchised per team, and for a five year period...This helps teams keep the stars they drafted..Your franchise player can
be signed for 5 years...For teams that want to establish a foundation with their max players like Kobe, Bron, DHoward etc…

Install a hard cap at 65 mil...If there stars wants to come together at 15 mil per, teams only have 20 mil to add pieces around them to help them
compete...Teams will have to be diligent about the pieces they add around stars if they truly want to contend…

There should be an out clause for teams for players who are hurt perennially …This would effect teams with guys like Allan Houston, Curry and Oden..
If your injury last more that one season, teams should be able to opt out of a contract while still pay the player a minimal salary say 250k per with
medical while he recovers beyond one year...Franchises won't be buried because a key player goes down..Players become free agents to sign with who they
see fit..

I had a few more points but not able to muster them at the moment but will add later...

Any thoughts?...

Too much reading. The owners don't really want to give and inch and their proposals are really low on concessions and high on still benefiting them vastly more than the guys that make them their money. Too bad Stern isn't impartial, as a strong commissioner might be able to get more flex from both sides. Right now Stern is an obvious tool...

...of the owners that is. It was real tempting just to leave that out there as is. He's not really pushing for the players in any way. The give and take really isn't there outside of the owners saying GIVE us more and you TAKE less. I'm also confused about the notion that was floated last week that there were only a few owners holding out regarding various aspects. Screw that minority in this case and make that small group adapt to the majority. If there's a lockout that effects the season I'm out until **** is squared and I'll even have to think about coming back once the ship is righted. I just want to enjoy the game and these folks only care about maximizing profits to the point of damaging the product. Fuck all these guys.
