Stephen A Smith is one of the stupidest people on the face of the Earth.

So he expects all 7 footers to rebound in double digits? I don't get it?

Kwame is not that good. That being said, what is Screamin' A smoking on this one? At best, he's getting what, $3 million on a one year deal? I can live with that, as a stopgap. Let's not go crazy. He also fails to mention that Kwame's 5.6 career rebounds is an average of 22 minutes. It's not like he's playing 35 mpg and putting up that. I'm okay with a one year Kwame rental.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Look, it's a one year stop-gap. Nobody's saying Kwame's great, but Smith isn't taking the situation into context.

We know what the endgame is for New York: save enough space for Chris Paul/Dwight Howard in the offseason while fielding a competitive team this year. That means one year deals only, and it's not like there's a starting C available that fits.

No to "Kwayne", no to Stephen A.

But seriously, even if Kwame is cheap I feel like he'd be a bad locker room presence. We need dudes who want to win. Kwame doesn't really give me that impression.

Sean Williams
Greg Foster
Greg Smith

If they aren't looking to use the MLE, I would be happy if the Knicks grab 2 of these player in addition to Jerome Jordan and the rest of or roster.
I don't mind grabbing all 3 but someone wouldn't be playing if they did...

Since we're following the lame Miami blueprint, if we can't get a center as good as Joel Anthony for what Miami is paying him (avg of 3.5 million) then it's not worth it.

None of the names mentioned so far strike me as being better than Joel Anthony, or even just as good.

Rose is not the answer.

I like that list. I think someone is going to steal Sean Williams. He was already a talent and seems to have his head on straight. Smith has tremendous physical gifts. If he can achieve half of his potential he would be productive.

In fact, I like

Sean Williams
Greg Foster
Greg Smith

so much, I would sign them 2/3 at 3 year contracts at good deals. We can't afford to find a gem in the system and have them bolt the next season.
I am not saying to over pay for them. But to sign Sean Williams and Greg Smith to 3 year deals at 1-2m. And Greg Foster At slightly more than the veteran minimum, wouldn't hurt our cap at going for a 3rd star yet, would give us insurance at solid role players that can play the PF and center.

Like him or not Brown is probably our best option. Good athlete, good defender, good rebounder. But there are others i wouldn't be opposed to either, such as Aaron Gray or Nazr Mohammed.

I think I had posted this before, but let me do it again.

Sean Williams is more brain dead than AR. Although an athletic freak, the guy just doesn't have much going on upstairs.

On an odd weekend some time over the past 6 months I caught the last 10 minutes of a Dleague game while flipping through channels. I think it was 4th quarter of a tight game. Williams was in the game and was a little miffed about a call or 2 (not really sure if he had a legit beef) but he was determined to show the refs up to the utter detriment of his team. And then proceeded to play like crap and was eventually pulled.

Dude has about zero IQ and sense of awareness. He'll be lucky to get an NBA invite and GMs and coaches are well aware of his attitude, which is of a young, immature boy who may never grow up, and that adds up being too much to bother for any NBA coach.

Don't hold your breath on him.
