interesting move...

kind of wonder what it means for him to test the market right after a torn acl and surgery this past april.

could impact things in a variety of ways...

some may like the idea of signing him...

others maybe hoping he goes to another team and increases pressure on the hornets to perhaps deal paul...

Forum Po Po and #33 for a reason...

Lee was a S&T. None of the teams with cap room were paying that to Lee. I have a hard time envisioning NO doing a sign and trade. It does kind of make me sad that we could've had David West in the draft we took Sweetney in, though. Ugh.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Not good...

That will probably lead to a even more disgruntled CP3, what could lead to him forcing a midseason trade. In this, we will definitly loose the rest of our young players and the rest of the season is gone as well.

How realistic is Option B? That CP3 just deals with a bad team for one friggin more year, then comes as a free agent to a team that has all the pieces in place? Since the unnecessary Melodrama, I dont have any fate left in the decision making process of these cry babies professional athletes.

Lets just hope for a knicks friendly CBA, a reasonable good start to the season (not to good, 'cause that would catapult/trade the youngins out of the door in the blink of an eye) and most important: a more mature CP3 who is willing to wait.

PS: I like david west, just not for us. Hope he finds a good situation on his next contract

supposedly the Nets are going to make a big push for David West to get Deron Williams a running mate.

it'd be funny if David West goes from having Chris Paul setting him up to having Deron Williams getting him the ball.

i think DWest is almost certainly gone, once the lockout is over, and that will lead to CP3 wanting out of New Orleans even more than he already does.

I agree. I hope he is patient, but we already gave away our best players to snag Melo. If we have to give up Fields, Turiaf, TD, Billups or any of the others to get CP3, so be it. They don't represent nearly the same sort of loss as trading Gallo, Chandler, AR and Moz did. I am not going to quibble about losing the rest of our bench if it means we have our third spoke in place. We can always get more talent to replace them.

I say we keep our best defenders and try to emulate the Heat's roster (i.e., 3 studs with the best role players we can get).

West leaves as free agent will make CP3 trade bait if NO does not use its cap space ot replace him.

CP3 has to say, and mean it that he wants to be in NO but will wait until after the season to talk extension.

THat keeps his public image decent.

They will want to trade him in fear of losing him for nothing. Most likely a contender. The knicks could lose him no doubt if he has a positionve experience and wants to stay. Say Celts offer Rondo and another player, pick, for him and they make a run in the playoffs, or Dallas, or GS Warriors a package of Ellis plus on or two assets.

CP3 does not have to extend, but its big money and fear of injury would loom. GS could contend soon with right mix and luck.

Lets see, Multi generational wealth vs playing with Melo and Amare?

Why sign West when you have Amare at the PF/C position? All he doe is score, and we have 2 legitimate scorers.

who is suggesting we waste money on West? Or that we could even give him an offer? Knicks only have MLE and West just opted out of $7.6M

true. that's a lot of money. that would buy $1.52M of my band's CD's. OK I'm DONE!! HAHA!! sorry...

i do find it odd that he'd opt out on the heels of a major injury and in the face of looming lockout.
