![]() Actually I mentioned Singleton as one of 3 players I would have liked the Knicks to pick, BEFORE they picked. No hindsight or naysaying just for the sake of it. Good try though.
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

![]() Why do people act as if Shumpert was a no doubt, easy pick with no potential downside or negatives to be concerned about? It's scary how protective people get about any Knick draft pick.

It's scary how protective people get about any Knick draft pick. Folks may have emphasized his positives a bit too much, but I don't think the general consensus around here is that Shumpert was the one and only perfect pick for us at 17. Singleton, by the way, is almost like a larger version of Shumpert, in some ways, and even less developed offensively. No man is happy without a delusion of some kind. I would argue that Singleton has more to offer offensively as he shoots better from mid to long range (37% vs 27% from 3pt) and is a better finisher at 6'9''. Isles my good man, as usual you have missed the point. I'm sure you did mention Singleton in some long gone obscure thread but the larger issue is that if the Knicks would've picked him you would've done a 180 & figured out some reason to hate him because it seems like you are physically incapable of happiness when it pertains to the New York Knicks. I & many others had hoped you would seek therapy & come back to the board a well man, after your banishment but alas I see that is not the case. I love sparring w/you but it gets old & if following the team doesn't give you pleasure than why do it??? |

Yes, the NBA Draft thread that was stickied to the top of the board all night long. Real obscure.
I've never done that before but sure let's pretend that I would have done that now.
We spar like a hammer (me) and a nail (you). That does get old. If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

That does get old. meaning that I stay embedded in the core of whatever we are talking about here, figuratively & quite literally holding things together while you take one or two quick hits (some would say "sucker punches") & then disappear??? PS - don't pick a fight with someone wittier & more verbose than you, that's sort of like Joe the Plumber challenging Obama to a debate...just a thought. By all means feel free to disregard as you do with most common sense posted here |

Uhh...why are you so high on Singleton when your big argument against Shumpert is that he can't play on the offensive end? Singleton has no offensive game whatsoever. |

That does get old. Your thread? Yeah, it was. Because it was trashing Fields too. Two players you've never seen play before that draft. Judging by how Fields developed, maybe it would make more sense to be less judgmental right off the bat - especially for players that you know very little about. I knew nothing about Fields and was way off on criticizing that pick. However, I do think he was quite a find as he was not on the radar.CrushAlot wrote:Childs2Dudley wrote:CrushAlot wrote:ActionJackson wrote:Just wondering why you would start a post calling other posters out and then accuse one of those posters of picking a fight with you.islesfan wrote:We spar like a hammer (me) and a nail (you).
