I saw two things this morning:

Nash on NY's radar: http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/knicks/post/_/id/5463/stein-ford-knicks-inquired-about-steve-nash
Read at the bottom also. Looks like there's going to be a Knicks Draft Chat by Sheridan at 3 PM.

Robin Lopez on NY's radar:

@Probballdraft
Probasketballdraft Still looking to make deals @thenyknicks are talking with PHO about Robin Lopez. The #Suns willing to move him but price has to be right.

y pay alot for RObin Lopez when there are better prospects in the draft, imo. Id rather have Keith Benson than RObin Lopez. Id rather have Vucevic than Lopez.

And why would we inquire about Nash and give up assets? He's playing at a high level but come one, the guy is 37!!

Robin Lopez is a good player and would fit perfect next to Amare imo

I don't think steve Nash will happen, so I won't discuss.

Robin Lopez? He would be a FANTASTIC edition... I prefer Gortat but I doubt Phoenix gives him up. The other Lopez would be a great fit here. Not to mention, we'd get Page Six sotries about the two brothers waiting in line for some new video game coming out in their Pokemon pajamas

Only in NY do you move from a 35 year old point to a 37 year old!

I like Nash, but at what cost?

Robin Lopez would be fine in the knicks rotation. "RoPez and BroPez" in NY!

I don't know enough about where PHX is going but Nash is goint to need a solid back up in NY, and we need a big.

Gortat and Nash for..............Billups, Fields and the 17? Im not happy losing the lustre of a draft pick to argue about, and I do like chauns, but Gortat is who we need.

I would trade pick 17 and Toney for Robin Lopez, as long as they're able to get a late first/ early second and replace Toney with a PG like Reggie Jackson or Charlie Jenkins or something.

Robin Lopez was a perfect fit next to Amar'e in Phoenix. He'd be a great addition.

I think if we could build a package that would get Nash and Lopez here for Billups, TD, 3 Million, and a 2nd round pick that we acquire I would do it. We'd be trading Nash for Billups basically and adding Lopez. Nash is old but so is Billups. We would still hang on to cap flexibility as well.

The only way I wouldn't do this is if they try to force us to take a bad contract back like Childress.

Nash probably won't happen though. Lopez would be a good fit here if the price wasn't too high.

I like Gortat, but I think Phoenix REALLY likes him. I think they're committed to him at center, which is why Robin Lopez is available.

Also, thankfully we can end the Nash debate... at least until the trade deadline or something:

Phoenix is in love with Nash and probably would only trade him for something incredibly tipped in their favor. If you take a look at the General Board over at Realgm, some Suns fans are absolutley delusional as to his worth. Nash is the only guy they have to bring in fans really

The more I think about it the more I would definitely bring in Lopez for #17 and/or TD. Seems like an excellent fit and he wouldn't be a project.

Gortat called New York a "dirty, dirty city" and said he wouldn't want to play there. He also called out his teammates at one stretch last season and then started playing poorly. So if there was a way make it Lopez instead of Gortat a trade would be more appealing.

NEW YORK -- Suns president Lon Babby put the brakes on Steve Nash trade speculation Wednesday, saying, "We are not trading Steve Nash. Period. Exclamation point."

Despite the questionable syntax, the otherwise clear dictation from Babby to the Arizona Republic quashed the latest Nash trade discussions, which had him going to Minnesota for the No. 2 pick in Thursday's draft. The Timberwolves have been among the most active teams in trade discussions leading up to the draft, offering the second pick to several teams with a list of demands that included Nash, the Lakers' Pau Gasol, and the Wizards' JaVale McGee, league sources said Wednesday. The proposed Gasol trade is "not happening," one of the sources said, and Washington has been unwilling to seriously discuss trading McGee.

A person close to Nash said of a possible trade to Minnesota, "I can't believe (Phoenix) would do that to Steve." Nash, 37, would be relegated to mentoring point guard Ricky Rubio on a rebuilding team that won 17 games last season.

If Minnesota is unsuccessful in procuring a veteran star for the second pick, sources said the Wolves are comfortable selecting Arizona's Derrick Williams, who team officials strongly believe will be on the board after the Cavaliers select Duke point guard Kyrie Irving.

Babby also told the Republic that the Suns "are not trading Marcin Gortat," whose name was included in the discussions with Minnesota.

A source also said discussions between Atlanta and Orlando with Josh Smith going to the Magic are "totally legit." Executives say the Hawks have expressed an eagerness to move Smith and would like to shed salary in the process.

Several executives were surprised to learn the Spurs are fielding offers for point guard Tony Parker, whose infamous statement that San Antonio's championship window has closed could usher in some significant changes for the four-time champions. An integral piece of the puzzle for the Spurs is the pending early-termination option for Tim Duncan, who has yet to act on his $21.2 million option for next season. It would clearly benefit Duncan to agree to an extension before the collective bargaining agreement expires at 12:01 a.m. ET July 1, though Spurs officials are currently focused on the draft -- with one obvious priority being whether Parker or other assets could get San Antonio into the high lottery on draft night.

With top prospects in New York Thursday for media and service responsibilities, a person familiar with the draft discussions said the Pistons appear to have zeroed in on Texas small forward Tristan Thompson with the eighth pick. Thompson canceled other scheduled workouts after working out for the Pistons with five other players Wednesday.

Nash maybe 37, but he was a 2 time MVP under MDA less then 5 years ago, his production has not fallen off that much.

Nash is a lock to be all star playing with melo and amare under MDA..are you kidding me.
On another note, you better get a top notch back up like jimmer or shelby. I know the defense would suffer, but the offense would blossom like roses in the spring.

I would not give up anything for Lopez...Definitely not TD or the 17th pick...Lopez is trash...And as for trading TD in a deal for Nash, as a Knick fan see Mo Cheeks for Rod Strickland deal....

We have no chance at Nash, and he is much better than Billups even with 2 more years on him.

Would love to have him but the only way we get him is as a FA and by then he might start showing his age. Maybe we can get him in a few years and he can be like J Kidd on Dallas.

I think Lopez would be a good fit. I wouldn't give up pick 17 for him, but if I could put together a Toney Douglas for Lopez/2nd Rounder, I'd have to consider it. Then I can take Vucevic at 17 and have Vucevic and Lopez and take a PG in the second.

I don't know what the right price is according to Phoenix, but I'd start there and see what happens.

Tommy D just reported on his Twitter that Nash to Knicks heating up. Not sure how much I trust his sources since he's a blogger, but he says he's checking with more "sources".
